I think JJ is winding us up he has a sense of humour he seems to be sayibg the opposite to everyone else.

General Melchett: "If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."

well Madrid have just signed Joshua Pynadath so no need for Bale now

Just have to wait for him to pass puberty then he is straight into the team

Sorry by hap hazard I meant we started off with a plan and it is all going to jelly. Reminds me scarily of the ramos era where the plan is not being followed.

ask anyone at the club and they will tell you huds parker, benny and ade are on the transfer list. Then players that are not designed to leave, leave. Dempsey was told three weeks ago he is intergral to the us market, dawkins is given a new contract but it seems he is not wanted.

The loan system and subsequent youth systems are disjointed. Players like fryers and vigaroux who have shown little promise travel with the first team to try and "get their confidence up" nothing to do with any good performances.

I am.not one to be negative but as with last year we are not all rosey off the pitch. That being said we have a rollecoaster few weeks ahead so lets see what it brings :)

probably the need for baldini, not just assistance with signing first team players but sorting out stuff off the pitch as well.

Im still very confident that in DL, AVB and FB over the next 3 weeks we will have a team that is competitive to the highest level. With or without Bale

I am excited

I suppose things can't be settled if we don't know whether our budget is £0, or £120m for the rest of the window.

We need the Bale situation resolved one way or the other this week.

I disagree mate, I think he's just been told to keep his mouth shut. So that nothing he says gets taken out of context. I am confident he's staying! Looking forward to watching us play this season. I'm itching for the first home game of the season already :)

Lets get some more players in today and annoy the dirty gooner scum some more :)

I hope you are right but after AVBs answers in the press conference a few days ago it feel like we are fighting a losing battle trying to keep him. Whether he stays or goes, we have already made some great signings and I'm excited about the forthcoming, hopefully fourthcoming, season.

Thank you LLM... I am a keen follower of all things like this. Squad harmony, how youth is brought through, etc...and i was surprised at how we were doing things with relation to Fryers and the like when others seemed to have warrented time more.

It seems first team stuff tends to work morale wise, but youth integration and pushing out unwanted players doesnt seem to be thought through.

I appreciate you want value for your players, but this has to be offset with wages you are still paying etc... For example, if i have a player like say Huddlestone in 50k a week (as an example), in 20 weeks thats 1 million. A whole season and thats over 2 million, on a player you dont want?! Cut the asking price, get them out and get the players you DO want and will have faith in playing.

Yes you cant mitigate totally for lack of interest in these players, but you can make them more attractive with a lower price, which you could try and make up with on players lower down the order of selling priority.

Again, if you value Dempsey at 8m (thats already a profit over what we paid for him on transfer value), you try and push price towards 9 and that extra 1 covers a potential shortfall in another deal.

Anyway, waffling on... Just really wanted to thank LLM for the behind the scenes stuff as as much as we like transfer gossip, how the club is run top to bottom is equally important and interesting.

Of course he'll have his own ideas too, and he'll want his players in and will want to get rid of others to make way. Hence Caulker, Dempsey going IMO.

On all the conflicting Bale info, I suspect it comes about because Real simply haven't backed up their offer yet, and until they actually front up the cash then we are telling everyone to keep quiet either way.

It wouldn't surprise me if we've agreed on a valuation of £105m with Real. But that doesn't mean that a transfer is close. Bale may not want to go, Real may not have the money, they might overvalue any players they want to add as part of the deal, those players might not want to come etc etc.

Until Real stump up a proper offer this whole thing is a moo point. It's moo.
