I honestly have no idea why anyone thinks we are still in for in Bernard. There is no reliable noise around him and hasn't been for weeks now. Yet still people are wishlisting him and putting him in teams and now people think he's the plan A to Chadli's plan B.

I'd love to be wrong, but there's just nothing doing there IMO

I know for a fact that right after the Confederations Cup, Spurs were asking for scouting reports/information on Bernard. Who knows, he might have priced himself above us, but I do know that we were interested.

Yeah, in (on?) my onion, Pjanic would be a strange signing unless we're thinking of getting rid of Siggy/Holtby. we have Carrol, Siggy, Holtby, Dembele, Paulinho and Dempsey who can play in that position. Oh, and Bale - 'cos he does what he wants.

however Pjanic would be an upgrade on Dempsey and Siggy for sure, and we want to keep improving right? Carrol needs some time on loan in my opinion. Great player but needs game time.

And i think there is a presumption that it will be sandro, paulinho and dembele as the midfield three each match. Well that can't be the case every match and maybe at home it would be 2 from 3?

and then Porto signed a Columbian lad with a similar skill set. Without there being much actual ITK on him, our interest in him earlier in the window means that people are bound to discuss him, especially as we have had info that we have put forward a proposal for him.

Mate I woke up at half six this morning beside a piece of pizza. Logged straight on here to read JJ's ITK on Benteke to make sure I hadn't dreamt it. Was pretty hammered to be fair lol

IIRC Bernard wanted to play in the Copa Libertadores and was going to make a decision afterwards, and Porto apparently put in the €25m bid. The final 2 legs of CL is 18th and 25th July, so I think we will have to wait until then to find out. I would do a bit more digging around but my connection is so slow it's impossible!
