Thats all correct with paying in installments. But then again you have old transfers you pay in installments. Probably we still pay Lyon for Tanguy, Everton for Richy and others.Whatever the combination of CBs we bring in. Remember a couple of things. A £50m player will be paid in installments. So rarely are we lumping £50m on the debit card. Could be in 2,3,4 differing installments up to eventually paying off the £50m.
But for FFP, that player @ £50m will be accounted for over the life of the contract. Say it's a 5year deal, that's £10m a year on the profit and loss statements. (well done if you did the maths in your head)
What does all this mean?... for FFP we're good. Buying in we amortise the players each year, selling players we have that money immediately! So buying 2x £50m players, doesn't mean we've actually handed over £100m. More like a Direct Debit for a part of each one.
