So with the Bergwijn and CCV sales, we’re at £100m outgoing so far this window (Romero purchase activation included). With Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Rodon and Clarke to possibly leave, this takes us close to the £0 mark again.

With Lenglet set to join on loan, and possibly Spence at £20m, one suspects we’re still going big on 2 more players or this £150m cash injection looks unusual timing.

I don't think it quite works like that. Firstly transfers cover over multiple seasons and secondly there's no requirement for us to 'spend' £150m net.

I think we probably need to exceed £150m on incomings of pure optics after the cash injection but not necessarily net.

Some of the injection could help with potential new deals for Conte, Kane, Dier or Davies too.

I'm sure if a great opportunity arises we'll go for it. This just gives us that bit more flexibility as much as anything.

For example if PSG randomly put Hakimi up for sale in a fortnight we'd probably be in there bidding.

If that future CB and AM end up being expensive signings it’s interesting how we weren’t getting those done earlier in the window to take to Korea.

Maybe it’s a case of better deals becoming available as the window progresses. You’d just think if we had a potential starting centre back to we’d want him in the squad asap.

Guessing they just aren't available for whatever reason.

There seems to be a bit of a stalemate around top CBs at the moment.

Skriniar, De Ligt, Kounde, Bremer, Gvardiol, Torres, Bastoni.

A lot of big name CBs being looked at by a lot of top teams but none have moved yet. I wonder if Skriniar to PSG will kick it all off.

Yep, I understand how transfers work across an agreed period.

Ultimately though, ENIC adding £150m into the pot for the first time in over 20 years will not lead to a 20m net spend in this window. It sends the wrong message. The contractual updates on Conte, Kane etc should be more than feasible within the current financial structure without the requirement to dip into this £150m.

As noted, we have player options on Romero and Kulu that will require investment triggers, but this will already have been factored in prior to the ENIC injection.

Let’s see how it pans out and Hakimi would be nice..

Agree on all of that. I'm hopeful we'll get at least one more significant incoming transfer in terms of fee. My initial thinking was 3 x £50m+ - LCB, CM and ST. We got the £50m striker and a £50m quality in Bissouma, just for half the price.

I think my main point is that we won't just spend £150m whatever happens. If we can get our business done for less we'll do that. The funds can be saved for future windows if necessary.

The £150mil needs to be drawn in full by next year for ENIC to increase the % in their ownership. That being said, doesn't need to be spent solely on transfers.

I can't speak for the rest of your theory but i'd certainly imagine any PSG business had to wait to be sure it has the public optics of being the current managers choice (whoever that is) signing not one from the previous management.

Go on then, when did he more than contribute with the other 6 goals in 82 games?

Because I could really do with you confirming my selective/poor memory as you put it.
But it's not only about goals. Let's agree to disagree and move on

I agree, I wasn’t suggesting we use all the £150m on outgoing transfers this window, (word is £100m of £150m is being made available for transfer activity) but I believe the injection is coming though in tranches until 31/12/22, so an opportunity to be flexible if required.
