Feels like our business is all hinging on this transfer then. We are probably holding off on other targets until we know if this one goes through or not.

Let’s hope it gets sorted either way asap.

Think it will be sorted by Friday personally. He would benefit from pre season with Conte.

Ideally needs to be sorted either way before then imo, because everyone coming in will benefit from going on tour and being part of the group.

Seems a good plan:

Get Spence and Lenglet done this week and on the plane to Korea along with Richarlison.

Then line up some potential outs and figure out the remaining budget for CB and AM for when the squad return.

If he's so insistent on add-ons based on success then when we win the Champions League we should send it to him by courier in used coppers. :sneaky:

One of those left to come in will be home grown, we'd rather that be Spence as it allows us more freedom elsewhere, and it also works better from a financial stand point considering other positions and options. Gibson was given a hard deadline and tbf from what I've heard he has been more amicable since, and is actively looking to work this to a conclusion. He's still a stubborn git though so no promises.
Stubborn git or not that sounds like he blinked.

With all our ITK's information last week after Richarlison signed being very optimistic about the week ahead for incomings I wonder if the Spence deal is holding everything else up or just other deals not going our way.

If that future CB and AM end up being expensive signings it’s interesting how we weren’t getting those done earlier in the window to take to Korea.

Maybe it’s a case of better deals becoming available as the window progresses. You’d just think if we had a potential starting centre back to we’d want him in the squad asap.

I'm sure the Spence deal is slowing things up a little since he's homegrown.

Trix just said Spence was the cheapest homegrown option, if we don't get him, then we're looking at more expensive HG which affects other targets

Regarding the homegrown stuff.
Ally Gold does a good roundup of who is and isn’t in his latest YT video. Probably best to watch that to get up to speed. ??

It does still feel like we'll pull off some big centre back signing.

Because as much as I absolutely love the work done in this window so far, we haven't still actually addressed the two weakest parts of our starting 11 from last year - Centre back and right back.

Lenglet doesn't feel like the answer - more of a well measured punt. I have faith in levy and co though (never thought i'd say that lol).

Not overly upset by Gibson trying to get the very best deal he can get for his football club. Fingers crossed a deal that means both sides can say they "won" the negiations can be sorted out.

If we want him and we get him that's a win for me.
