The thing I dont understand is this. Gareth signed a new deal last season. If he had intentions to move to Madrid should they show an interest, then why not include it in the contract. A legal binding release for said amount. It would stop all this posturing.

As it stands, he is a THFC player. And that fact means we hold all the power.

If he goes then he goes on our terms. And believe me, those terms will be hugely beneficial to us going forward

I think JJ is deliberately sabotaging his own reputation. Get a few 'wrong', his aura dims and he becomes a pleb like the rest of us and can then join in fighting over A&Cs old butt plugs (they're not diamonds by the way; unless diamonds is some new, down with the kids term for sweet corn that I don't know about).

Perhaps he's got another account on the go. Perhaps he's really LLM? Perhaps this is all part of Levy's plan to create confusion and when Soldado runs out against palace instead unzipping his training top he unzips his face and out comes Gregorz Rasiak. Levy then spends the rest of the season trying to convince us that Rasiak never really left, that the last seven years were just a dream and that Paulo Tramezzani was getting a testimonial this year.

Not ITK, just a dodgy bhaji (or am I??)
To confirm. The diamonds are real. This is ITK from a reliable source. :censored: #anusol

Ryan, if we'd done that then we'd be selling him for 30/40 mil now. Bloody good job we didn't as we was not valued at anything like 80mil before last season.

Agreed. I was on the tube yesterday and an obvious gooner was reading the Metro, turned to the 'spurs sign Soldier page' and stuck his middle finger up at it! Made my day. Bitter whiney gooner scum having a hissy fit

:O How did the newspaper take it?

Some people's reactions to football are bizarre and so out of kilter with the rest of life.

It should be remembered just how far Bale has come in the last year. He's been brilliant for us for a few seasons now but last year was over and above anything we've seen before. A world record fee this time last year would have been unthinkable.

Sorry by hap hazard I meant we started off with a plan and it is all going to jelly. Reminds me scarily of the ramos era where the plan is not being followed.

ask anyone at the club and they will tell you huds parker, benny and ade are on the transfer list. Then players that are not designed to leave, leave. Dempsey was told three weeks ago he is intergral to the us market, dawkins is given a new contract but it seems he is not wanted.

The loan system and subsequent youth systems are disjointed. Players like fryers and vigaroux who have shown little promise travel with the first team to try and "get their confidence up" nothing to do with any good performances.

I am.not one to be negative but as with last year we are not all rosey off the pitch. That being said we have a rollecoaster few weeks ahead so lets see what it brings :)

Like loaning out players like Smith, Mason, Pritchard, fucking stupid IMO. These kids should be training around the first team group and getting bits and bobs of first team football. And now we are talking about loaning out Tom Carroll FFS.

They may not ultimately be good enough long term but these players have enough ability to at least deserve testing at the right (our) level instead of constantly being chucked down two levels with the shit kickers of the football league.

It really troubles me that we are not using a great academy wisely. Who do you think is ultimately responsible for the jumbled integration policy LLM ? Would be really interested to know what you think.

On the plus side, at least Dempsey going. Do they teach laziness in Texas too ?

I know this could be pure optimism but I simply don't see how the money works on a potential Bale transfer.

Spurs - ENIC's number 1 priority is the new stadium. For this they need a sponsor and have failed to find one at the right level hence Levy's sacking last week of our sponsorship manager. They' must see their best shot of getting the sponsorship is having one of the world's 3 best players at the club. The right deal if they find it is worth in the hundreds of millions and even if RM pay 100m and you sign a replacement for 40m that is only net 60m

Bale - He is building a brands and the value of it is rising. Building that brand is easier in the Prem where he is clearly top dog than in La Liga where he is behind Messi and Ronaldo. Most importantly at Spurs he owns the brand whereas at RM they would own his brand.

I think both the club and Bale's silence is because it suits both as it gives column inches and furthers both brands.

Here's hoping I'm right.

I find myself oddly calm about the Bale situation. I still think that all this faff is just going to lead to a new bumper contract, but even if he does go I'm confident that we will have a contingency plan. It is an odd feeling.

Whilst I agree about learning with players in training, it's match time (competitive) that'll sort the good from the not so good.

Ideally a loan to a lower prem team, but Championship is also good. So it seems it's more of the players in between ressies/first team that do the loans, rather than the development piece itself.

Only way to know if someone is ready, is by getting matches, rather than in training where intensity is never as high.

I agree with loaning out time Carroll to a prem side for the season really. Give a better indicator of whether he is up to the task. he isnt going to get much game time ahead of Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho, and Holtby. And he needs more than games against lite europa league sides

I agree with what your saying but not convinced, Liverpool have been firm with Suarez, Villa with benteke but we have been silent and what worries me is the more I hear about the modric deal, which dragged on it seems we got quite a poor sale out of it, nowhere near what we were rumoured to have secured for his sale and spread over numerous years.

I'd prefer Carroll to go out on loan, tbh. He has trained around the club and with our players for enough time, he now needs to try and get in another Prem team for the season, play most weeks and be an integral part of the team dynamic. That kind of shit will be what turns him from a boy into a man and will also be what prepares him to come back into our squad and force his way into the midfield rotation. The loan to Palace sounds ideal to me.

Spot on Clive Wilson.

Also Levy would never sanction a release clause like that.

Incidentally do you remember when you signed my ticket after the 1999 Worthington Cup final? That was awesome.
