I'm saying that consistency is key; that'll reflect in both performances and results. We all want to win obviously, but that won't happen without consistent performances - that means the coaching staff getting the best out of our squad. I get your point about winning beats all in a general sense, but this is about our current situation. No winning and a shitshow to watch.
Ok. But what I was replying to was a question about why I bother watching when the result is really all I'm bothered about.

So, basically the board have decided he must go at the end of the season, regardless of results. Which, to be honest, it's hard to see us finishing top 4 or winning the LC given the way we have been playing for the last four months. So, not all that surprising.

But if that is known by the players, it's kinda hard to see how they will be motivated for the remainder of the season if Jose is still in charge. As they know he will be taking a hike. And at least a third of them are likely off in the summer.

Weird sort of no-mans land/purgatory.

Given that information, I can't really see us finishing any higher than 8th.

Only chance something might change that trajectory is if they let him go now, and whether it is Ledley or Sacramento or one of the youth team coaches the group until the end of the season, and maybe that gives them some oomph.

What a mess, though.

Funnily enough, what kinda annoys me the most, is that odious scrote, Oliver Holt was right. He wrote an article, barely a day into Jose's reign, declaring that it was a mistake and would end horribly. Hate that it turns out he was kinda correct. 'Cos he is a first class nob-head.

Are you able to find that article?

If he knows he's gone he must go. Especially after it's seemed hes lost almost all the players
It’ll all be transactional for him. If staying means a bigger payout, then he’ll stick around unless he’s forced to go, which’ll mean more money. To be fair to him, he’s always said he’s only loyal to the team who employs him; he’s a rationalist and lacks the romanticism of someone like Pochettino

But see that's not true, I'm am a 100%
It is true, I didn't think it was but looking back at the results and the fact we were flying with him being our only fit CM before he got injured in 2018 and scrapped fourth with relegation form

Me too. We’ve had over 80 games of him now. We know what he’s about.
I disagree but I know im in a minority since the Pandemic the only clubs that performed well are those with a settled squad for the last 2 years. All the teams that made signings trying to bed players in during the pandemic are struggling in the table hence why we have Leicester and West Ham in the top 4

I know. I respect your view. But, tbh, still struggling to understand it without the context of actual football being played leading up to those results. Results are the end point, and we'll all be happy with good ones.

I guess Levy's decision on Mourinho depends. on what vision he had for him:

1. Re-build the team
2. Squeeze the potential to better results

I believe it's no 2. And if that's true, Mourinho has failed and should be sacked right after our cup final loss.

Is this really true? Of our competitors I can only think of Chelsea who fit into the category of new manager struggling during the pandemic etc. Liverpool and Man U don’t fit into that category. Arsenal maybe do? Who else? Everton maybe? But they finished 12th last year and are now basically matching us. They have improved this season.

I don't care about the cup final, but qualifying for CL, that would equal succeeding. After that we can argue whether it was Mourinho who managed to pull it off or whether it was the players despite their weak mentality who managed to pull it off.

Hmm for a team that have an almost bare cabinet... it does puzzle me reading the 1st sentence..

I care. No matter whoever is managing us and under what circumstances. I care about a cup final.

I have flip flopped on this so many times over many months. I don't love Jose and never have but I do think he visna good manager although he seems to be not quite the force he once was. I think I want him out but when I look at the problems in our squad, our boardroom and our club he is not the only problem and the act or removing him and not addressing the others really worries me for the next few years ....
