Didn't he want to literally play the reserves in the midweek against Southampton in prep for the final and Levy went mad because of his obsession with top 4 and we were about 5/6 points off it?

I really doubt this is true. Not Levy’s focus on the top four, that’s obviously true. But the idea Levy was privy to what team Mourinho was going to pick and then sacked him because of that. I mean, what, did Mourinho literally hand Levy the team sheet for sign off the week before? He may have made some noises about it but surely that wouldn’t have been enough for Levy to make a decision to sack him.

If this story were really true, all Mourinho would have had to do to avoid the sack was to claim so and so important player isn’t fit, has picked up an injury during training, has a virus etc. Mourinho isn’t daft. He could have fielded a weakened team without fear of being sacked. There was more to it than that imo.

Roma are about to go through some really tough times without him. They already couldn't spend in the market so the players they signed in summer were on free transfers that came due to Mourinho. Most of the match-going fans were still in support of Mourinho. Dybala I believe has a release clause now for apparently £11M being linked to Newcastle. Newcastle could also be Mourinho's next landing spot or the Portuguese national team if things go wrong in the Euros

Sherwood did say that Levy got wind of Kane starting ahead of Soldado and had a word with him about it so i don't think it is out of the realms of possibility that he would have heard about potential line ups etc.

I know he managed teams with money but with that comes high pressure to deliver. He did an excellent job at Porto, took Chelsea straight to the title, did really well at Inter and then at Real Madrid created a team that broke goalscoring records who were only beaten by Pep's Barcelona, one of the best teams in history.

But since then it went downhill.

I think attacking football started to outperform defensive football. He just seemed to be miserable and suck the life out of his players.

I'll admit that I favoured him coming to us. I thought after his break he might have been reinvigorated. Turned out he was just a miserable git.

He might have a go at managing an international side. But I think he's achieved what he's going to at club level.

I actually wouldn't be against him becoming England manager. Cup specialist, we are hated already and we don't play regularly enough to care about the style. Not too many better options out there...

I'd rather Eddie Howe. Jose can tank the Toon.

I do think he 'Us Against Them' style of management would be well suited to international football. He will only have the players for short periods of time so the players wont spend long enough with him to get jaded by his management style.

Would love to see him as a pundit - he’s insightful and entertaining even if i dont agree with everything he says. I’d tune in to listen to him

When he isn’t managing a club and acting like an arrogant egotistical maniac, mourinho really does come across brilliantly in interviews. Really enjoyed this one.

Some very nice words and good feelings from Mou after the CL, 1:13:50 - much more positive about Tottenham and the direction of the club than about Chelsea and Man U (after being asked about his former clubs in the prem)
