He's perfect for Pochetino's system and I agree with the poster who believe's his return from injury has had some part to play in our recent run of form. With him and Rose in the side we have great balance. He clearly rates quite poorly for decision making and doesn't have Lionel Messi's natural footballing ability, but he's a quality right back which is why he has a number of caps for England. Since coming back from a very serious injury he has had good and bad games but in my opinion will get better and better under Pochetino. Some competition for his position (hopefully Yedlin, Fredericks or KWP) would help him improve.

Personally I would let him go on a free :)

Seriously, this footballers brain thing really pisses me off. What is that exactly? If he didn't have one he wouldn't be playing at the top level of football and certainly wouldn't get in the England squad. He might not be perfect but he has a fucking brain for fucks sake.

I'm sure he's very sorry for not being at your footballing level though @Jimbo78

Not doing stupid stuff consistently and in every single game. Being able to pass the ball more often than not without giving it away or making the correct decision. Seeing the runs of players, moving intelligent...

Basically doing what being paid £80,000 a week to do.

The second part, sorry, but I have read to many stories on here, that intelligent players are not selected by scouts because of slight builds etc etc...

And no, walker does not having a footballing brain for the wages and level of football he plays at.

I honestly don't think he is good enough and he most certainly not smart enough.

Said this after the Liverpool game I wasnt impressed. No instinct. Has to take a touch before delivering a cross or cuts in and passes it sideways losing all forward team momentum. But. The same could be said for of our inverted wingers, I hate inverted wingers,

Fair enough then, I bow down to your superior knowledge of the scouting network and whether players have a footballing brain or not.

@Jimbo78 must be one of the intelligent players that were passed over by the scouts...bless him

In reply to the OP - yes.

Who else do you suggest we play there, or realistically purchase?

I was a decent player and played at non league level (2 leagues off the conference) could of an probably should of done better. But thats what girls and booze does for you! I didn't have the commitment I should have and was more interested in chasing girls and partying in my mid 20's. Sad but true.
But as for talent I honestly think I had a lot more talent than someone like walker and played with and against better players technically.

Credit to him he obviously had a better attitude than me and the said players. He's a fit lad as I said and I know this is a massive part of modern football.

However I think he is very poor. And thiught that before he got injured anyway. As I've said there are certain things you can't teach. A footballing brain is one. And yes to the poster who said this doesn't exist it definitely does! Positioning, knowing when to pass the ball quickly and to pick a pass. To name but a few. Walker just doesn't have these attributes.

His crossing is an absolute joke and indefensible for a so called top level player.

Seems to have no analytical brain and adds very little to the debate, I'd say if Red Cafe offer A&C a packet of 7 year old wotsits we should sell

Seems an equal trade...both the OP and a 7 year old packet of Wotsits have the faint whiff of **** about them :woot::woot::woot:

Sorry, there have been plenty of coaches from youth teams etc that have posted on this forum, that have said that and that is why I am saying it.

So you can shove your sarcasm back up your arse.

I gave an honest opinion, I am not involved in football in anyway, but I do trust people who actually run/manage youth teams and I believe them when they say club scouts over look talented players because of their build.

Deal with it. You only have to look at the England team for the last 10 years to see how shit we are.

Ha ha...cheers for that, that's me told, I'll go and sit on the naughty step with my two kids, although I might struggle as something has been shoved up my arse :)

I just find it strange that so many managers/coaches have picked him or continued to pick him to play at a high level. O'Neill, Redknapp, AVB, Sherwood, Poch, Capello, Hodgson. But hey, what do I know?

I know people should be confident in their own ability in many aspects of life, but this is taking it to new extremes.

Kyle Walker has been very good in the past, and has yet to regain his form after an extended injury of many months. How long has been back, 2 1/2 months?

He's got so much pace - he should be the complete package.

But I'm afraid he thinks he already is - when actually he's got a hell of a lot to learn,.

On paper, Walker and Baines are arguably England's best 2 full backs but this season in particular, Walker has forgotten how to attack and Baines has forgot how to defend. Walker's limitations are standing out more at the moment as we're reliant on him to provide our width and he's failing to deliver every single time. 2 years ago if someone said we could get £20m for Walker, I would say he's not for sale at any price. This summer, if a £20m bid comes in I would take it and look to replace him with a more all round full back.

I think anyone who offers to pay £20mil for Kyle Walker needs to be committed.

I personally think Jan Vertonghen is massively overrated and it seems like nobody picks up on it. Some of his defending is disastrous and he, like everyone else, seems to just ignore it because they are so far up his arse.

I'd personally like to see Dier and Fazio given a go together.

He isn't a terrible player but his crossing isn't great and his decision making is pretty poor. I think we could do better.

Baffling that we chose to sell Naughton and not replace him with a seasoned pro like Jimbo
