I really value and like walker, but I just wish he would cross it more instead of cutting back into a short inward pass.
This really annoyed me today, the amount of times he beat their left back and got into a crossing position, yet decided to then cut back and play it back to our central midfield, you'd think he'd look to get it into the box at least half of the time but no...

I love his athleticism, strength and what seems to be genuine enthusiasm for playing for us.

I hate it when he tries to play with his tiny brain - you don't need to be clever when you have the physical attributes he has - he just needs to get the basics of defending right and attack DIRECT and to the line.

I detest the fact he takes NO responsibility for errors in his game - he ALWAYS looks at other players when things go wrong.

He needs more coaching more than ANY other players in our first team. He really could be the best in Europe if someone just got him doing what he should be doing.

Brawn without brain. Would really like a look at Walker-Peters if we're out of contention for 4th.

I don't think it's just coincidence that our good run of results started when he returned to the team from injury.
I wouldn't swap him for any other right back in the league.

I think he needs some genuine competition for his place. A lot is expected in this system of the full backs so it might take longer to coach.

I'm hoping that is the case at least.

He did it so many times that you have to wonder what his instructions from the manager were. I'm not trying to reassign blame to Poch, it was just very strange that he wouldn't cross it. May be he just played with Lennon for too long.

I still like Walker though. Hopefully he'll be back to his best next weekend.

Lol.

Do you lot rate anyone apart from kane and Lloris? That should be the thread on this forum, saves creating one one for every player and calling them shit every time they have a bad game

On paper, Walker and Baines are arguably England's best 2 full backs but this season in particular, Walker has forgotten how to attack and Baines has forgot how to defend. Walker's limitations are standing out more at the moment as we're reliant on him to provide our width and he's failing to deliver every single time. 2 years ago if someone said we could get £20m for Walker, I would say he's not for sale at any price. This summer, if a £20m bid comes in I would take it and look to replace him with a more all round full back.

I must did out the thread about his return to fitness and my suggestion that some on here would crucify him for 1 or 2 bad performances despite him having been out for an eternity

Those of us who have played at a reasonable standard, which I'm sure there are many have more talent than him. I actually believe that! He's a fit lad granted and quick but never a footballer IMO.

Loads of us have played with and against much better right backs than him. I'm 100% sure of that. He's very lucky he was picked up as a young player at sheff united. Probably because he was a bit bigger and quicker at a young age. Exactly the reason why English football has been in the duldrums for so long. Hopefully we don't pick the wrong kids anymore. We will see on that but from what I hear and see I am hopeful.

Why does he play for THFC I really don't know. Appalling.

Are you a top footballer jimbo? If not your talking horse shit

He has been poor since he came back, but I have seen him be very good before his injury, and I hope that he can get back to that level.

Does anyone still rate @Jimbo78?

Seems to have no analytical brain and adds very little to the debate, I'd say if Red Cafe offer A&C a packet of 7 year old wotsits we should sell
Personally I would let him go on a free :)

Seriously, this footballers brain thing really pisses me off. What is that exactly? If he didn't have one he wouldn't be playing at the top level of football and certainly wouldn't get in the England squad. He might not be perfect but he has a fucking brain for fucks sake.

I'm sure he's very sorry for not being at your footballing level though @Jimbo78

I think you will find that our good run of results started with Vlad playing as right back.

Sad, but true.

Since he has returned from injury he does not appear to be the same player. Twice again today he was caught out when WH took a quick free-kick on the edge of our area (when he and Lamela turned their back to the ball) and secondly he made no attempt to challenge the header in the second half that led to an almost certain goal had it not been for a great save from Lloris.

He needs competition and not from a center back, Yedlin offers that competition. Moving forward the defence as a whole is playing poor and for sure will need some upgrading come the summer. We are shipping in far too many goals and have only seven clean sheets in the Premier League this season.
