I thought Ali Z was one of the guys calling him to leave? Along with Atlanta? Am I mixed up? I bet I am.
He was!
What a fucking saga.
Every day this week you could have asked me 'Is Bale going?' and I couldn't guarantee my answer would be one way or another.

In conversation earlier I decided that this week the worst i've been is 60/40 he's going and the best has been 80/20 he's staying, and that's just numbers that relate to nothing...

I still say he isn't & it would be great to get some decent ITK on it but i'll not get my hopes up :(

Do we know if we are allowed to buy from them? A lot of times when somebody like Baldini switches clubs, there is agreements made. But I don't remember seeing anything that would suggest this. So does anybody know if Roma and ourselves have any agreement or are at odds? Thanks

Not sure anything like this would be in written form, more likely a verbal agreement if it exists.

However, Roma know that with the money we'll get for Bale if we sell him, we are primed to give them the best offer they are likely to get so any agreement would be brushed aside. Also, Baldini and Sabatini remain friends which bodes well for any negotiations.

Roma did just buy Gervinho and need money. Might be they see him as a replacement, but just like us they want to buy before selling.

They bought Gervinho for 7m. And sold Marquinhos for 35m

Why are you saying they need money?

Generally these forums give us all an inside track or at least a slant on what's going on in the club, elevate our knowledge slightly above the Sun-reader in the street, indeed people who know I follow this stuff ask me regularly 'what's going on?', but this week, maybe this summer even, i'm coming across as a rank novice with all my 'I don't know' answers!

Caulker's departure was so left field, Dempsey is a case for Scooby Doo to solve and the Bale story would be rejected by an American TV soap for being too far-fetched. It's so hard to even attempt to piece together the info for a full picture right now.
Are we even in for anyone now? Vlad? Is that it?

Still, as long as we're not having a tepid racism debate or plotting out pseudo-Friends episodes, it's still good fun.

Here's to tomorrow. *clinks glass*

Can't remember the Pacifics but I think there was something about Baldini taking the Italian equivalent of gardening leave* before coming to us - that (hopefully) covered the extent of his clauses.

(*I assume this is far cooler than our version, which I always imagine as something Titchmarshy)

Wow, plenty of the usual media crap flying around today! Just got home and had a quick read through. Once again, NO quotes have been given by Gareth.

His parents arrived back in Whitchurch today, so in the next day or so I should have some more info on this whole saga, but as far as I'm concerned, and the club, Gareth will NOT be sold.

Keep the faith, only a month to go! ;)

Thanks for this which is comforting. At least I can sleep better tonight. It's almost 8 pm here in eastern Canada.

From Look Like Modric on JA606 forum

If he had asked to leave we surely would pursue an open market with the likes of psg, monaco, etc. Not real Madrid who do not have the money and have to structure payments. Confident he will stay this season. I will buy as much beer as you can drink at a spurs game if I am wrong mate

I'm in the Dominican Republic. I'm drunk and sunburnt. What the hell is going on with bale so much conflicting info. I am not checking sc as much as I was but I'm worried. Great news about the soldier though.

And yes. It's fucking hot :)

Gotta admit that a lot of us have thought/said this.

It makes no sense why either we or Bale wouldn't go open market. Even if he wanted RM more than anything, going open market benefits Bale as much as us.
