I've been through the motions and changed my opinion so much on the Bale situation I'm just going to try ignore it and be indifferent until something concrete happens either way.

Annoying thing is the speculation/situation is obviously hindering our future incoming plans.

It makes no sense why either we or Bale wouldn't go open market. Even if he wanted RM more than anything, going open market benefits Bale as much as us.

especially if true that RM are offering over-valued cast-offs as payment

there has to be an open market to force RM to declare their hand openly - when Berbatov was sold, it was the threat of Man City that pushed the price up to that which Man U eventually paid

How does it harm him to have open bidding from Monaco, Anzi, PSG, City and Chelsea?

It doesn't. It helps him. His fee increases, thus his cut of the fee, and he can demand better wages.

When we look for jobs, we try and make it out like we're looking at other options and that's over an extra 2000 a year.
