Maybe he does want to go to Real Madrid and Real Madrid only.

How does it harm him to have open bidding from Monaco, Anzi, PSG, City and Chelsea?

It doesn't. It helps him. His fee increases, thus his cut of the fee, and he can demand better wages.

When we look for jobs, we try and make it out like we're looking at other options and that's over an extra 2000 a year. ;)
But essentially the first thing a club will do if they want to sign a player these days is not contact his club, it's contact his agent. So PSG may well have thought about bidding, but they will have phoned Barnett, and he'll have said, sorry Gareth has his heart set on Real. That's the reality of big players moving. Why didn't Arsenal put RVP on the open market last year? He only wanted United.

I think we need to remember that all ITK is second hand info. The historian in all of us should take this into consideration.

Gotta admit that a lot of us have thought/said this.

It makes no sense why either we or Bale wouldn't go open market. Even if he wanted RM more than anything, going open market benefits Bale as much as us.

And of course his derided but switched on agent.

If it's true he's in the last year of some kind of contract with Stellar, surely they'd be pitching him everywhere or at least trying to convince him that there's a wider world than just Madrid. £8-10m vs zero million is a compelling argument.

'The opportunities at Anzhi are truly remarkable Gareth, you will be feted as a God and Samuel Eto'o has promised to give you all the penalties...'

But Monaco could offer 200 m and 300k a week, it wouldn't make a difference, bale says I want Real Madrid. Real Madrid know this and that's that, it's like gio when someone offered 9m or close and gio said no, I want to go to Spain. The club couldn't sell him because he didn't want to go. The wages have probably been discussed with his agent and Madrid, and bale is probably happy with them. (Def happy with them I should think). I understand the agents would benefit more from the bigger fee etc but real will only pay what they will pay, I'm kind of confusing myself writing this and it's probably sounding a little muddled. But I know what I'm trying to say. :). Doubt you will tho. Lol.

I think it I mate, thing is Liverpool have bid for costa. So I think the deal to arsenal has pretty much been agreed behind the scenes, they don't need 4 strikers.

Do you really believe lvpool have bid for costa, I don't for 1 second at that price for a guy that woud'nt qualify for work permit & in his last friendly got accused of calling a Seville player a monkey, now Ian Ayre is a dumbass but even he wouldn't be that thick.. It's made up column inches

I wouldn't of bothered typing it if I didn't think it.

Remember the Goat is a catchall. We don't know who the source is from post to post. So there is no narrative to the goat. Read each piece as distinct ITK

Got that. Easily digestable, thanks. (y)

So I'm supposed to still be confused, yes? As long as I know how I'm supposed to feel when I wake up that's fine. :dead:

ROUND UP:

Suarez stuff is derived from a goat post, saying we're sounding out potential alternatives if Bale went clue in the post was 'eat',everyone presumed it was Suarez from that
Can't see much being in it myself, personally, I think it's the entrails of Ryantegan's Suarez wind up from the other day seeping through the gossip world.

Bernard is derived from Wishkah's drunken ramblings, he got drunk & lucky but wasn't impressed with his lady friend & the link is down to interpretation and at best super-tenuous.

So yeah not a lot.

Mystery came on and reiterated his 'Bale is staying' stance.
Bale hasn't gone to Monaco LLM has stated he is injured, simple as that, Andre was thought not to have travelled also but he has, it was bull.

There was a a race debate sparked by an unwise post and large sections of the day have been punctuated by the usual nonsense.

Now come on US SCers, get us through the night!

Dempsey to Seattle is looking on! His brother denied it, but ESPN is saying it's going to happen. Being a Texan Spurs fan I really wanted Dempsey to succeed here, but he just doesn't quite fit AVB's style. Still think he's good enough to play in Europe so I'm pretty disappointed he's going to Seattle.

Yeah I read $9m, forgot that; does seem a goer though.
I think it's simple, he's not gonna get to a CL club & not gonna feature for Spurs much, so why not go home?
I'd do the same. Plus he can be a talisman and a star in the US esp. with the World Cup coming, anywhere else he's just another player. Makes sense to me.

4 year contract at $8M a year supposedly too, which is crazy for MLS
