The silence is easily explained to be honest.

Be quite. Let every man and his dog talk about you. All that's being talked about at the moment is Gareth Bale. His rep is getting bigger and bigger the silence goes on. Levy knows this as does Bale. False links with RM (One of the biggest Clubs in the world is increasing his exposure on a global scale)

Come out and say he's not leaving and everybody moves on and he's not on the front of every page, blog etc anymore.

Whilst I wish that was the case, I suspect it's more a case of say he's not leaving and it reduces the chances of being able to go next year.

I'd take another season though.

I'd love to buy into this theory but I believe Bale does want to go but won't force it and Levy does have a price he will sell at and is encouraging Madrid to reach it.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but Real doesn't have any plans of buying Bale at all! They are just using Bale to push Ronaldos transfer fee through the sky, and to force him to sign a new contract. I promise you. Really. I'm serious... No? I am 90% sure. Okay, 50%.

20%, at the very least! I promise!

If we're not going to publicly reiterate that he's not for sale, then why not take a leaf out of Salvo's book and publicly issue a deadline, stating that Real Madrid are aware of our demands and that if they are not met by <enter date here> then he will not be sold. Obviously as I'm typing this, I realise that any public intention that we make of selling him weakens our position in the transfer market so we're actually in a really, really difficult position. I'm just extremely worried that it'll drag on and on and we'll lose him towards the end of the window and be unable to replace him. Not even a sniff of ITK on any potential replacements is quite worrying.

Or re-assuring depending on how you want to look at it. No replacements lined up no sale.

Just a quick question. What would people prefer?

RM now or Man Utd next season for Bale?

If Bale stays we will finish above united next season imo. Doubtful he will go there especially if they finish outside the top 4 which isnt beyond the realms of possibility.

And I'd be extremely surprised if setting a deadline will work in stopping Real Madrid trying to unsettle Bale.

I think that's a very good question. I also wonder if that wasn't one of the factors in us accepting what seemed like a smaller than possible fee for Modric, because we would rather that than strengthen teams we are chasing. If so would be impressed with Levy.

I dont think Levy is encouraging them on, but i think he wants to leave the door ajar in they event that they do lose their minds and chuck 100m on the table.

Wouldn't that depend on who is the manager at United next year?

I don't think Moyes will be at United that long to be honest

Or Bale would like to go but wont force it and Levy is at home with his family on holiday and not taking any calls about THFC or Bale until he gets back to the UK - explains the silence on our part IMO NOT ITK (y)

I'd prefer to beat Man Utd arse this season home and away and be title contenders this season, get into the champions league next season, play RM and beat their arse as well, that way we can show Bale this is the place to be, this is the future.
It's not impossible, we can do it.
