This silence will mean a whole lot more if/when Bale stays. Will put all the media into its place.

I would imagine it was Adebayor who told Bale to go, seeing as he's been there and loved it. Ade's loyalty doesn't strike me as his biggest trait....

I would love to know which **** told him to hand in a transfer request. My bet would be someone like Ade.

Never seemed to enjoy Bale's last minute heroics.

Haha noticed when Bale scored that last minute winner vs West Ham, Ade just turned round with absolutely no emotion while the whole team chased after Bale.

My tuppenny onion ...
Bale being silent might be a plan to have RM think he's completely up for the transfer - but somehow (that 'ahem' rotten Levy) wouldn't allow it. And he'd be just SO (ahem) upset that he didn't join RM, but must professionally continue at THFC for another season. But he PROMISES to be the RM main man via the transfer window next year (ahem - cough's getting worse).
If RM think Bale wants to join them, they're likely to come back in for him next year. At the moment they are trying gossip ultimatums - "This might be his only chance to join RM".
Maybe Bale would like to play for RM one day? If so, I imagine he doesn't want to upset the RM board.

So many times we've got close to getting a player and then suddenly, oops slight change in terms or something causes a delay which means the window slams shut - oh dear - but we did TRY (ahem).
Having experienced/learnt the trick, why not use it ourselves?

The conflicting ITK just sums up what being a Spurs fan is all about, roller coaster of emotions!

Agreed but I have no idea which way he is going to go he's either going to snap at us or at madrid

But my guess is he's going to bury his head and hide away remember when he used to stay down for every knock and redknapp told physios to stop treating him I think he likes to be told "everything's going to be okay"

Good point. Maybe he's grown up since then, maybe he hasn't. I suppose we'll see soon enough. If he wants the fame and money that comes with being a star athlete then he's going to have to deal with the not-so-cheery side of that equation too.

Either way, I'm not too broken up about the whole thing. He either stays and Spurs have a world class player, or he goes for a huge pile of dough and that, in turn, helps solidify Spurs future. Win win for Tottenham.

Just a quick question. What would people prefer?

RM now or Man Utd next season for Bale?

exactly my point this " dont comment as a rule" has hardly worked in our favour has it, it needs to be handled differently than previously...it just smells of the same line, and if we can read between the lines then its obvious the press can too, hence the hype! :)

How can you definately say its not worked in our favour. Maximum press exposure globally for 3 months? I would say that is pretty much golden.

Providing he stays of course. And if he says he wont push for a move there is every chance that is happening. What can we assume (I say assume as of course we dont know for sure)

1. Statements close of season saying Bale wont be sold
2. Real Madrid most likely wont pay the money been speculated
3. Bale wont force a move
4. Everyone at Spurs wants him to stay
5. If he stayed he would get on with it and not sulk.
6. Marca the driving force behind this other newspapers / outlets jumping on the bandwagon

Of course its possible he may go and its difficult to disregard what we are seeing but if we do we lose a hell of a lot of face and we will once again be regarded by the press as a second tier team not capable of challenging the elite. Which we probably would be. We need a player like Bale to take us to the next level, all well and good having the money but its one pot of money that once gone we dont have a rich arab / oil tycoon to pump anymore in. IMO the money would be tainted and not refelctive of its true value in the market so will have to go into the Stadium kitty. Long term a succesful Bale benefits the club far more than a one off very public cash explosion. I just hope DL and co see this as we are on the brink of doing something I certainly havent seen in my lifetime.
