Seriously though mate do you really think that Levy would just blow money in one position and leave us woefully short in others. Really?

The guy is probably the best chairman in the premiership. We are punching well above our weight and that is down to one man.

You've got it back to front I think, it's easier to play for San Marino because they have less people to choose from. In the same way, Croatia has fewer people to choose from than Brazil.

He's right though. It's a perfect example of what could happen if you go spending willy nilly. You can only spend what you can afford to spend, and as we are not bankrolled by a Russian mafia or Sheikh, we can't be throwing 20million at someone we don't desperately need. We also don't have a big stadium to gain any extra finance right now, so it makes sense not to spend 20million on someone we dont need. I would much rather or spent in an area like CM or FW.

Or would you rather we threw money at everyone we wanted, end up having a bad season and not being able to afford them, forced to sell them and start from the bottom again?

I already know the answer to that question, and it's a big fat NO.

Levy will not spend £20m if the club can't afford it - how difficult is that to understand? There is absolutely no danger of us 'doing a Leeds'. This Leeds comparison is just daft.

We are about to sell Modric for big money and we've already made a profit from player trading since last summer. If AVB wants Willian and Levy thinks the club can afford to pay for him....WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

I certainly hope not. I firmly believe in Levy, all I was saying is that I really hope we won't spend 20 million on him. Bear in mind that we paid well over odds for Bentley once upon a time.

ITK on Rafa is worrying. Too much uncertainty over popular and important players after season has started can't be good for anyone and won't help our results while window is open. Our squad only needed tinkering with not full scale changes.
Seems anyone who is a) nearing 30 or b) lacking pace is being considered for selling - VdV, Daws, Hudd.

I just agree with BC's point that we can't go around throwing money at people like some are saying we should. And 20million seems like crazy money for this Willian chap who some of us, me included had never even heard of, before a few days ago.

As someone alluded to earlier, I'm sure we have a list of players that we'll entertain selling if an acceptable offer comes in - in order to reinvest for strengthening in other areas.

The thing is that he also wants to get the best players he can at the same time, which leads up to frustration when rumours fail to materialise. But when he's successful he really hits the ball out of the park, only Levy would be ballsy enough to buy Adebayor for 5m (80% off retail price) and then have City subsidise his wages.

I dont want us to go in the way of the shit like Rangers or Leeds but we must have some cash left. We have loaned out a fair bit which has saved us a few quid, and we must have generated a fair bit of revenue from the likes of Pav, Bassong, Krunchie, Corluka etc I do sometimes wonder where our cash is going - as far as im concerned and aware the stadium fund does not take away from the transfer fund and are in no way related. Transfer fund is also not related to the wages budget. All three are seperately identifiable.

I am happy doing it Levys way but at the same time I dont want us to buy players that AVB doesnt want etc what with the whole DoF.
