I really do hope Daniel is ruthless now. We need 3 signings (2 strikers and a creative midfielder) and ideally 2 more (Goalkeeper and winger) to contend at the top this season.

I would be so disappointed if we sell Modric for anything less than £35m. Man Utd have just spent £24m on a player with 1 year left on his contract.

no, no games. It would be Damiao, and Eriksen is Danish.
Not to mention the fact that he isn't even a striker.

Yeah. Going into the Newcastle game without a striker to suit our system isn't great, but it's a very tough game regardless. If we get Ade in for the 2 home games then we've got a solid chance of getting 6 points, after which the break gives us 2 weeks to settle in a 2nd striker, modric replacement and perhaps a winger, goalkeeper. Considering how much we're all shitting ourselves over the lack of transfer activity, 6 pts from 9 would hardly be a disastrous start to the season.

While I'm annoyed at the Club for now getting a striker in for that game I'm also really annoyed at how Ade's playing this - he knows we need him but he's happy to wait three games for even more money. Seems he was always the certain striker while the other one (whoever it will be) was the one that could go to the wire. Defoe and Kane up front in a tough away game is a long way from perfect, and I'm afraid AVB will come under immense pressure immediately if the results don't go our way.

(Having said that, if a top midfielder and two top strikers come in we'll have had an amazing transfer window, so I still hope 1 Sept we'll all be happy).

Too old for a loan. Would be gutted if he didn't stay and play a bit those season. One of those players that's better than people give him credit for but because he is slow he always has doubters.

He isn't too old, Adebayor was 27 when he came to us last year?

I wonder if Allardyce will try and convert Huddlestone into a centre back? He is a bit too cultured for their midfield, but may be useful for the long balls up to Carlton Cole.

I don't really understand getting rid of him, even if we do get Moutinho in. Unless we are ready to promote Tom Carroll to primary backup for Moutinho?

I don't understand the 'he now knows it very important' thingy, I mean, Christ on a bike, we've need at least one other top quality striker for the past 3 windows or so!!

Surely he can't just have noticed?

Ade, LD, Llorente, Remy. Any two of them.

Lloris/Butland, m'Vila and Moutinho for modric. There's ya targets, it's obvious, now go make this club better, cos the gap at the top has widened once again, and we're being left behind.

Early points in the board is massive.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no....no he can't just have noticed. Good spot.

Come on team we're better than this! ENGAGE BRAIN!

I hope BC doesn't see this ,otherwise you'll get a few moody comments about how crap hudd is but how amazing jenas is.

anyway as for itk it all sounds like the modric deal should be done soon so that we have the money to complete the rest.

Can we all perhaps agree that getting even a low figure (in our opinions) circa £25 mill from Real Madrid is definitely preferable to £35 mill from an EPL side???

Suddenly, massive influx of ITK...

But JJ's words looms large... (1) most of the other ITKs are 1-2 weeks behind news, and JJ (2) JJ said 2 days back nothing doing by end week...

Good news is that wheels are in motion though, that we can and should be transformed come 1 Sep.

Guesses

Ins - carvalho, ade, llorente, moutinho, keeper
Outs - Dawson, Thudd, Bassong, Gomes, Ratface, JD

How does that look?

Funny thing about Hudd is I've always felt he was more suited to the slower more technical Italian league. I think he'd tear up Serie A

I'm trying, I really am...but I have NO idea what this one means...!

JTG is a journalist, so clarity of written expression is of great importance to him.

I'll guess, something upwards of £35m, to be paid in full within 18 months.

what would happen if Arsenal went out and bought Llorente with the RVP money. they have not haggled over the deal. said what they wanted or thought what he was worth, got it done and can now spend accordingly,so i cannot believe that we wait until other clubs do business then we get into gear. it is absolute hogwash.
