But it's his club (in BRAZIL) who Levy needs to agree with... Not the player.

He doesn’t have go to brazil to speak to the club, we live in this wonderful modern world with phones, emails and faxes! ;) we may have agreed to speak to the player and still speaking to the club about a fee, or... i hope we have agreed a fee and allowed to speak to the player.

Blimey just realised there are still two weeks of the transfer window left, and there was me thinking all this would be over on Saturday.

Obviously not ideal but let's face it, Newcastle away and WBA/Norwich at home are not the worst games to be without new signings for. Next game after that is on the 16th so it will at least give them a few days at training after the internationals. (Assuming we do actually sign someone).

Not surprised if AVB did want to move the Thudd on - probably rated as too slow for his system. Disappointing but have to trust AVB.

With RvP leaving the scum, that's probably injected the impetus into Levy - will try and get Llorente or Leandro before they do. Fingers crossed the Small Knight still has it in him.

I'm trying, I really am...but I have NO idea what this one means...!

I think this is very important to remember. People are saying 'we should get everything done before the first day of the season' and yes in a perfect world we'd do that. But transfer activity for all clubs who aren't City and Chelsea always skyrockets in the last week of the window and this one will be no different.

It sounds like the Modric deal is done so that will get us spending soon.

Never fear SC...we'll bring in players soon!

Yeah. Going into the Newcastle game without a striker to suit our system isn't great, but it's a very tough game regardless. If we get Ade in for the 2 home games then we've got a solid chance of getting 6 points, after which the break gives us 2 weeks to settle in a 2nd striker, modric replacement and perhaps a winger, goalkeeper. Considering how much we're all shitting ourselves over the lack of transfer activity, 6 pts from 9 would hardly be a disastrous start to the season.

yeah, you're kinda enforcing my point. (y) pasadenaspur said he thought Levy had gone to Sweden to wrap up LD. I said probably not. Everyone can be right, I don't care! :D

I don't understand the 'he now knows it very important' thingy, I mean, Christ on a bike, we've need at least one other top quality striker for the past 3 windows or so!!

Surely he can't just have noticed?

Ade, LD, Llorente, Remy. Any two of them.

Lloris/Butland, m'Vila and Moutinho for modric. There's ya targets, it's obvious, now go make this club better, cos the gap at the top has widened once again, and we're being left behind.

Early points in the board is massive.

just more speculation i think on the price agreed with RM for Luka Modric and related terms i.e paid up in 18 months etc. not concrete though as i still think we will not get anything near 35 million for Luka Modric.

When I am Empress of the Universe, the first thing I will do will be to make the transfer window shut a week before the season starts.

Then I will move on to war, poverty & sending the Woolwich back home.

Meanwhile, back in reality, If we sell Hudd to West Ham I think I'll cry. Loan him, let him get back to his best & then sell him for more money to Italy if we have to sell him at all!
