Thanks for half clearing it up.

no worries. I'm still trying to figure out why it was automatically A, and not A or B.

this is from the website with the draw
Where two sides from the same association have qualified, they will be paired to split their matches between Tuesday and Wednesday, so one club will always play at home on one day and the other will play away on the other day. In the case of associations with three representatives, only two teams have been paired in terms of their fixtures; in the case of associations with four representatives, two pairings have been made based on the TV audience.

To ensure sides from the same country play on separate days, the eight groups will be distinguished by colour: Groups A-D will be red and Groups E-H blue. When a paired club is drawn, for example, into one of the red groups, the other paired club – once it has been drawn – will automatically be assigned to one of the four blue groups.

It's got to be Platinum, Gold and Silver get the option before bronze and lilywhite, based on loyalty points otherwise there'd be no point in having such a system in place.

That's fine by me because I'm gold and I'm loyal. Sorry to sound selfish but I will step on everybodies testicles to get to those away games!

Confidence is good, we are finally here and lets enjoy it. Its a hard group and none of them games will be easy the CL is a totally different game of which us as a team have no experience whatsoever but I believe we can get a good result. Can't wait till the first game!

I heard it's because they won't allow more than two English teams playing per evening (i.e. two Eng teams on Tuesday evenings, and two on Wednesday evenings). Sky's ratings and all...

as far as I can see, that explains why we had to be in either A or B.

I can't see why it was A automatically, because only Braga had to be in E-H, the rest, as far as I can see, could've gone anywhere.

It's fine with me also, as I'm gold and loyal as well, though I do suspect if I wanted to go to all the away games I may be lining the pocket of a tout, given that FC Twente's capacity is only 24,000.

Hmm yeah Twente will be the hardest/ most expensive ticket wise, but it'll probably also be the cheapest to travel to.

Just got the membership this summer so very little!

I doubt very much you'll get a ticket, unless we play the last game at home and we've been thumped in the previous five.

So sorry, I hope you don't get a ticket

Under the assumption that I am right,

then obviously because group B plays the same evening as two of the English teams --> Group A

Group B option was already void, whereas there was an opening in group A's evening.

Nothing obvious about it though.

I think the situation was...there was us, Braga and Schalke left at the point we got drawn, Braga had to be in E-F as stated previously, Schalke could NOT be in Group A as Bremen were in already and 2 teams from the same nation cannot be in a group meaning our option of A or B was down to just A because of limitations on other teams, not limitations on us.

Think that clears it up....

 oh well! if I don't, I don't... as selfish as I am I wouldn't want to get a ticket over guys/girls who are there week in, week out anyway. I'd feel bad for them. So it's all good!

Don't know if anyone else has worked this out yet, but the Champions League rules state that

14.07 All clubs in the UEFA club competitions must make at least 5% of the total capacity of their stadium available exclusively to visiting supporters, in a segregated, safe area.

which means we should expect to get around this many tickets for each game.

Inter - 4,004
Werder Bremen - 2,118
FC Twente - 1,200

Doesn't look much really...

I thought the same, but Schalke could've gone into any of the groups bar ours and Munichs.

None of the other countries required country protection, and at first glance, the teams in Pot 4 could've worked out as well.

I think groups A-D all play on one evening (ourselves and united), while groups E-F play on the same evening (chelsea and arsenal).
