As I said, they just beat PSG 3-1 and they also had to beat Fenerbache and Villarreal (EL Semi-Finalists and 4th placed in La Liga last season) to get to the Group Stage- so they're no mugs regardless of what happened last season.

They don't have a new manager though, no idea where I got that one from.
I'm not saying they are mugs, I know they've got some good players like Bernardo Silva and Moutinho. I'm just saying we haven't got likes of Real or Bayern in our group. We could have easily met all three of these sides last year in the Europa.

I just think it's the right game for Janssen, and the Wembley pitch will suit his all engery style.

Looks like a complete sell-out according to OS... again! The extra tickets are now sold.

We start with Poch's preferred starting xl And that should be strong one
Substitutes used as the game progress and scoreline known

What has Dembele done to get everybody's vote He was the one that was caught eye gouging and missed 6 games. He has to earn his place ( like everybody else) back in the side
Dembele is our most important player and our best CM. He earns his place in the side because of that. It doesnt hurt that Dier and Wanyama is a terrible partnership.

Training these next couple days is going to play a big part, isn't it? How do you sit Son after that performance? After he skipped his last South Korea match for this very reason - to get his place back in the team? It is going to be a war in training.

You don't rest players for the champions league.
You don't rest players for what will be many of their first time playing CL for several years, for some it could be their debut.
You don't rest players for the game against the pot 4 team at home who we must beat if we wish to go through.

Tough choice between Ali and Dembele to partner Dier.

I think Lamela, Eriksen and Son have to start behind Kane really.

Lloris

Walker Toby Jan Davies

Edwards Eriksen Winks

Onomah Janssen Lamela

I'm just trying to keep Bus Conductor happy by switching to 4-3-3 and playing our 3 home grown boys . Perhaps Carter Vickers in place of Jan. What do you think BC ?

dembele has to come in mostly because he has more in the tank due to the ban
otherwise strongest x1 with 2 questions - is Rose fit? And how do you manage Kyle Walker - give him an hour?

Monaco are top of ligue 1, and this is our first home cl match in front of a record crowd - play our strongest 11.

I would go full strength for this one. We can rest against CSKA away to avoid the long journey if we want to rest. Our first CL game at wembley, everyone will want to play. Not the time to rest in my view. Keep the momentum from yesterday. Will be interesting if Son retains his spot. Id prefer Lamela to be honest even after Son's two goals.

You play our strongest team without question.

The fantastic thing is though, we have so many good options now and for the first time in a long time our strongest XI is no where near as obvious as it was in the past.

I'd go with:

Lloris
Walker- Alderweireld- Vertonghen- Davies
Dier- Alli
Lamela- Eriksen- Son
Kane

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Wimmer, Wanyama, Dembele, Sissoko, Janssen

What a bench!

Lloris/Vorm

Walker/Trippier
Toby/Wimmer
Jan/Dier
Rose/Davies

Dier/Wanyama
Dembele/Winks

Lamela/Sissoko
Eriksen/Alli
Son/Nkoudou

Kane/Janssen

I think any of these combinations will work

People should not be fooled by last season's Europa matches. Monaco are FAR stronger now than then. Their team has seen a lot of young players develop, and they finished last season very well. They've also bought very shrewdly this summer with top class unheralded players like Kamil Glik being brought in to add a bit of steel. They are on top of Ligue 1 right now, and they'll come in with a plan to sit back and counter us patiently. We rotate in players like Trippier and we risk losing this.

With that said, I'd go:

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies

Dembele Dier

Lamela Eriksen Son

Kane

I suspect that Poch will play the same team as yesterday apart from dropping Son for Lamela. Not what I'd do, but what I'm certain he'll do.

As long as we don't play Wanyama and Dier together I will be happy

They look pretty good and i said monaco would be far difficult than last season. People keep harping on about last seasons results but they look stronger this season.

Id play strongest side possible.

Awkward to say for certain as I really don't know much about how Monaco play but I'd play strongest side starting with Dembele, then rotate to Tripper, Davies, Nkoudou and Jansen for Sunderland on Sunday.
