I think a lot of the hate he gets is over the top and based on the racism thing a few years ago. He clearly misheard the “who let the yids out” chant, which in fairness to the uninitiated would sound like monkey noises.

He’s a bloody good defender, a natural winner on the pitch, and would be superb in our back three. Free transfer seems a no brainer of his wage demands aren’t too high.

Sorry mate but he’s a lying c**t
Ok - let compromise and agree he’s a bloody good defender and a lying c**t

I think it’s unreasonable to assume he was lying. Like I said it’s not unfeasible that he misheard the crowd chanting and genuinely thought he heard monkey chants.

But people are biased because of who he plays for and the situation of the match it happened in.

100% for Rudiger, if he fits in the wage structure. A bit of a d*ck, but so are a few of our players. He would drastically improve our squad.

No fuck that when it was proven that there was no monkey chants he should have apologised

It's not the first time he has done so either. It's damaging to racism campaigns actually. If he lied of course. My opinion is he did but can't substantiate that.

I see almost all of the LCB options are players from abroad. Not opposed to players from other leagues at all, but think it's worth looking within the prem too. Who's the best options available?

Mings I do not rate very highly at all . Anyone else spring to mind ?

Salisu is a really talented player, rough around the edges but he’s got the talent to be a superb defender

Rudiger would be that player to transform our club, although it will never happen but if so I will have a Don Fabio tattoo by the time the season start for sure (not a single drop of ink on my body today)

A wet dream defensive rebuild would be:

Sanchez out for £20m, Rodon out for £10m, Emerson out for £20m, Reggie out for £35m.

Rudiger in for free, Bremer in for 45m, Kostic in for £30m, Lamptey in for £40m.

£30m net spend and we’d be so strong.

No way would I want Reggie to go, he has that love for the club that Lamela has.

His wage demands will be ridiculous which is why Chelsea baulked at renewing. He got Sonny sent off, got a load of grief and then pulled the racism stunt imo.
I believe he genuinely thought he was being racially abused, I also believe that he totally mis-heard it. I don’t think it’s a reason to dislike someone.

I can get over him getting Son sent off. If Romero had done that to a Chelsea player this season no one would have cared

Possibly, but he puts in a lot of snidey “tackles” and I feel he genuinely doesn’t care if he injures people. The fact he gets away with it at the moment is insane but if we think that type of approach by the refs will be given if he played for us, then I’m sure we would be mistaken!

Can’t stand him.

Can’t say I’ve noticed him doing that, but as others have said his wages will likely be a problem anyway.

I’m not saying he’s a saint by any means, just think he’s a bit of a pantomime villain for some on here and it’s slightly unwarranted.
