Sometimes you just have to laugh. The footballing gods are just having a joke at our expense at the moment. Amazing how quickly our season is unravelling. Big picture though we played very well, if Bentancur stays on the pitch we probably win that. If our first 11 played that game we'd have absolutely destroyed them. Very few squads could handle the injury/suspension crisis we have right now, one as thin as ours definitely can't.

.You really can’t make it up. You’re down on your luck with injuries and then for the first 10mins Var doesn’t work when we should of had a blatant pen.

Because our best 11 is very good but our squad is shite and can't play Ange's style of football. We need to clear out some shit in January and get some more players that can play this style of football. Son needs a player who can seriously challenge him.

Oh and the forwards need the offside rule explaining to them.

We were still much the better team today with our B team. Just very wasteful, unfortunately.

Well that's two games in a row we should have won with our 2nd string. Lack of composure defensively and in attack has cost us dearly.

Bitter pill to take but it’s a case of being satisfied with the performance rather the result. Giving the loss of important personnel we played brilliant against a very good team. Better decision making and more clinical finishing in the box, especially in the first half and we win this game comfortably. Bentancur going off was a game changer, with him still in and we’re a much more dangerous team.
Still some more difficult days ahead of us but there’s no doubt we are heading in the right direction under Postecoglou.
Just got to keep the faith.

I finally understand we cannot afford to have ANY squad players in our team at all. Squad players are shit. Only 3-4 players now on field are starters. That shows everything.

I've said this before but a number of 'squad' players we have are not good enough when they need to cover injuries/suspensions for a run of games and with the change in style of play this season, some are completely unsuited.

Obviously the injuries are playing a significant part, but we aren’t helping ourselves by failing to adjust to the situation we’re in.

Mourinho and Conte were (rightly) slaughtered for playing one way and not having a Plan B but Ange does the same thing, just at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

We played the game today like we were down to ten men from minute zero. We’re already playing two full backs out of position, don’t then leave outrageous amounts of space down the left and right wing for the opposition to exploit. The counter attack was on every single time we lost the ball.

When it works, we look brilliant, but it won’t ever stop being incredibly naive and dangerous.

This post is not intended to slaughter Ange. Im very excited or our future under him (if he is rightly backed), but he needs to understand he doesn’t have comfortably the best squads in the league anymore. Davies and Emerson needed help today and he left them dangerously exposed.
Klopp and Pep played the same way as they build up squads at Liverpool and City… it’s fine just be patient.

Injuries have destroyed us.

If I recall correctly, VAR wasnt working at this point due to a technical issue. This is a clear pen and a red so early in the game.

Now here's a hypothetical question. If we keep losing let's say the next 5-6 games despite showing attacking intent, will the pressure be on Ange? Or let's say if the losing streak goes beyond 10 games, what will your thoughts be?

I don't understand the complaints about the defending at all. Makeshift centre back partnership with no top quality protection in front of them in midfield once Rodrigo came off. There's no way Villa weren't going to create anything. We just have to keep strengthening the squad and keep bringing in young, hungry and athletic guys who can cope with the intensity.

Feel like Lady Luck is against us at the moment should have won that comfortably even with the team ange is forced to pick. The sum of ange is more than the Tottenham bits, we really need to back him in January . Need minimum CB and Striker and not Poundland buys
