I think it is. Not only do you 'expect bumps in the road' (strange how we used almost exactly the same phrase haha) but those bumps need to take a form that's more acceptable, bumpy yes, but please, not quite so bumpy if you don't mind

But I know from looooong experience that when this happens there's not really much point in arguing the toss, but it's silly o'clock in the morning, i'm about to do an airport run and had ten minutes to kill

I know it's a process but I
we clearly do need to adapt to opposition types, play as open as this in two weeks time against that lot down the road in N5 and it could end up getting more than just a bit ugly.

None of us want to witness that even our journey is a process.

Been like that for as long as I can remember, and that’s a long time .
As I said before the club seems to be under a curse or disease. Every season we enter important games where a win will propel us to another level or cement our position and not only do we lose but we just don’t turn up!!
Being a Spurs supporter is fate similar to Sisyphus. Whereas he is eternally pushing a rock up a hill only for it to roll back down to the bottom we continually watch Spurs snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
What did I do to offend the Gods?

The annoying thing about this is Palace will draw or beat Newcastle next.

Sorry that’s a pointless point to make. Every game is diode on any other game. How a team did in their last game against different opposition has no real bearing on how their next match will pan out.

I've definitely "lost it". I went to the Forest game last Sunday which was my first visit in years, first to the new stadium.

While I obviously cheered the goals, it's the first time I've ever been to watch Spurs and felt *nothing*.

It was a bizarre and saddening feeling. Can't see myself going back.

I’m sad to admit but I’m the same…I ’checked out’ when Romero got himself sent off against Milan… I walked out at that point and I haven’t been back since…and that kills me as that was my Father Son time…but we both feel the same. But for me it’s not just a ‘Spurs’ thing…. It’s the shocking standard of refereeing and the amateurish running of VAR…football in general just ain’t what it used to be….and when I see the results I feel nothing…apart from being pissed off that it doesn’t mean what it used to…I still live in hope that those days come back though…

The turnovers leading to 1-0 and 3-0 below. Son lost the ball twice from extremely dangerous positions and our midfielders were passively standing on top of each other too far from any relevant situation. The same thing happened against Luton with Son losing the ball in a position like this with any cover too far away to help.

This is not to put shame on Son as we almost conceded from Werner, Maddison & Johnson committing similar errors today. It is certainly systematic, but whose fault is it? Ange's or our attackers' decision-making not being up to par? Nevertheless, we've been caught overplaying in dangerous areas more times than I can remember in the last few games and we've suffered for it.

I don’t disagree with what you say but I felt the problem was with playing through the middle, which is where we lost the ball for those goals, instead of getting the ball out wide to Johnson and Werner. Most of our recent goals have come from crosses from those two whereas we get little joy trying little one twos in the front of the middle of the penalty area.

Kulusevski definitely doesn’t but feel Lo Celso deserves a decent chance to prove he can do a job in that position.

I found myself about midway through the second half realising I just wasn't enjoying the experience very much. We were winning, and it doesn't help that I was sat next to THE most irrationally irritating **** I've ever sat next to at the football, but I remember thinking, "It's taken me 2hrs to get here, £70 for the ticket, cost me £12 for a fucking sausage roll and a beer, and all I'm getting out of this is 90 minutes of ok football? I've got another 2hrs to get home and I've got no emotional connection to show for it."

It's such a shame. I want to take my dad as he's in his 80's now and hasn't been to the new stadium after being a lifelong fan who used to go every week. But the journey's probably too much. It'll cost a fortune. And he's not got the same connection to the players and manager anymore either. And I'll have to buy another £60 membership just to have the privilege of being allowed to spend another £70 on a ticket. I was hoping to take him to an early cup round game against a lower league side, when it might be less busy, but of course we're so shit we went straight out of both cups.

For me the best period of going to Spurs was actually under Redknapp. White Hart Lane was on fire. I remember being so close to the pitch I wiped my hand down VDV's sweaty back as he came to take a corner. We were in Europe, but anything outside the CL didn't feel beneath us and we actually had a good go every season. We played some great football. Had some really exciting players. And it still felt like we were on our way up, back to where we belonged, the underdog taking on the big money clubs and giving them a bloody nose.

Now? It's just marking time. Top 6 ambitions. Soulless corporatism everywhere. I don't know. Getting older doesn't help. Kids, jobs, family etc to worry about. Football takes a back seat.

Our squad has it too cushy. Wonderful training facilities, comfy pillows, everything done for them... Any player comes in ends up being too soft. Life's too luxurious.

Get some portakabins in for the changing rooms, have them doing ice baths in wheelie bins, warm ups and drills on a churned up pitch. Toughen them all up.

yeah for me it was leaving the old lane, that last game beating united, that Poch team, being on the pitch etc...it was euphoric. The contrast when we went to Wembley was stark. And although the new stadium was amazing at first, that soon wore off. It just wasn't the same... Spurs wasn't the same.
I gave my ST up the season after that.

Absolutely, many seem oblivious to this huge Spurs flaw. Ange no longer seems to be able to get the players up for it. We'll probably see a one-off upsurge for the Arse match, but consistency has gone out the window

I hope his 'growth ' mantra proves correct but we've seen the opposite of that in terms of effort this season. The old prob that maybe Ange isn't so familiar with ... Motivating Millionaires.
