They sold of their future rights in a deal that will cost 100s of millions in order to get them a cash injection now
Oh yes. Instead of not spending for a couple of years they've gone for a deal which will hamper them for decades in the long run.

A bold strategy.

They need CL money to sustain themselves. Without investing now they risk not getting top 4 and losing more money. They get Raphinha and Lewandowski and they secure CL for the next few years.

Agree completely, but that's a big roll of the dice.

You can see why Bayern won’t let them pay for Lewandoski in instalments. Leeds would be wise to do the same.

TOBY ALDERWEIRELD JOINS ROYAL ANTWERP !

Toby Alderweireld (33) is about to return home: the centre-back, who is currently with Al-Duhail SC, will soon play for Royal Antwerp. As the Belgians announced on Monday, an agreement was reached between all three parties. A three-year contract is ready to be signed, the only obstacles are an administrative procedure and a medical check-up.

Potter comes across as a player who could thrive in the PL. Good signing for Brentford.

I'm more posting this to highlight that Brentford are putting in a contingency plan for David Raya, who I think would be a class successor for Hugo. He's an excellent distributor and great with his feet, as well as shot stopping. On top of that, he counts as home grown too

Barca just take the piss.

Is there a thread for LaLiga and/or Barcelona? The finances of the league will no doubt be a big conversation point in the months to come. Given that Barcelona are in such a huge mess atm, are there any conversations behind LaLiga bringing in some changes. For me, LaLiga must be really concerned now that the quality and spending power is only really applicable to the top 2/3 now. They will see a huge decrease in quality of matches and signings, evident by Madrid missing out on Halaand and Mbappe.

From the outside looking in, they need to adopt an approach similar to that of the PL where everyone gets a fair distribution of the TV rights money, allowing for more competition and a general improvement of quality across the board.

I remember when he became a star on FM. Good signing that. Be interesting to see how he does.

Brentford's turnaround last season was definitely not solely down to Eriksen, a big part of it was Raya returning from injury. Very good keeper.

Digne appears to be made of glass so makes sense. Paves the way for Regi to Sevilla aswell. And they should have funds with Carlos going and Kounde potentially aswell.
