Ange knows he could have made less changes to the starting 11 but he wanted to see how the squad fit with his tactics.

We know that effectively the spine needs an improvement. We need a new centre back, cover for Maddison and a player who can lead the line.

VDV played well tonight. My MOTM. Snuffed most things out but was let down by a really one dimensional midfield pivot

Forster did well during the match. Pulled off some good saves.

No blame laid at Sanchez for missing a penalty. It happens. Worryingly he would have put his name up ahead of Emerson, Davies, Hojberg, and to a lesser point Scarlett. Hojberg out of those would have been the logical choice, but perhaps his cojones shrunk.

Changes were fine imo but this is where those 2-3 players we need would make a difference, depth still not quite where we need it to be especially in attacking areas, RW & ST desperately needed and another CB & CM if GLC or PEH go.

i am so gutted. One game a week for 5 months until the fa cup. I really thought we could of gone for it in the carabao cup. All the good has just been undone. Sanchez just needs to go. It’s just not happening for him at this club, but I wish him the best in the future.

Yeah I don't usually ever feel you can blame keepers for not saving pens as the odds should be so heavily in favour of the taker, but he literally dived out of the way far too early and presented an empty net for four out of five

Forster kept us in the game with some decent stops tbf, he's not the reason we're out.

I don't think Levy tells Ange what team to play but I think he tells Ange what competitions are the most important.
