Our season went down the pan when we decided to disrupt the successful lineup that had played so well in the games against WHU and Chelsea - Davies and Royal at WB with Kulusevski and Richarlison alongside Kane - for the FACup game against Sheffield Utd. Despite that competition being our best chance of winning a trophy we decided to change the team to prioritize the league game against Wolves and the CL game against Milan.
The result of that decision was that within the week we were out of both cup competitions and the momentum we had began build up in the league ground to a halt. Since the Chelsea game we have now failed to win away from home in, I believe, a record breaking 9 games in all competitions.
The idiotic decision not to prioritize the FA Cup game over other games that week came back to bite us in the butt and completely derailed our season.

I think that as people pointed out last week, to consider Mason ready to manage us after 10 or so days and 1 win would be overzealous. However to then write Mason off after one loss is basically using the same logic that you were using to counter their argument and it shows the fallacy of using it in any conversation regarding his suitability.

In other words, can we stop using 1 game at a time to cast judgement?

Wouldn't we all love Mason to succeed, but if we're making decisions for the next season he surely cannot be considered- he needs to prove himself and get several more seasons of experience. Levy would be playing with fire if he gave him the post for next season- I actually think Mason is overrating himself if he thinks he's ready now.

I agree but your argument is based on his experience and the idea he needs to go cut his teeth elsewhere, that's a far stronger argument than this one game seesaw in my opinion.

Son should have been the first one hauled off. Just for his tragic footballing display and shitty workrate and application. And yet he's kept on again presumably because they think well he's a better player and more likely to get us a goal.

How many times have various coaches kept him on for those sentiments this season? There's players and staff making big talk about standards the last few weeks.... Well at some point you have to send some signals. Haul off one of the "stars", maybe at the detriment of your chances in that ongoing match, in order to show that piss poor football and not running hard enough has consequences and send him and the others a message and a kick up the backside.

At some point you have to address it head on. If you want standards, there have to be consequences. And not just an assured 90 mins every week.
Could winner this multiple times. I said at the substitutions that it’s always the same players starting and the same ones who are hauled off. There is no correlation to how players are actually performing. This has been going on at Spurs as far back as Poch if not before. There is no REAL competition for places so the starters don’t feel any pressure to perform and the “backups” know that they won’t dislodge the starters so it doesn’t matter how they play. It’s part of the reason we’re in the mess we’re in.

If you think this team is shite wait till we get Lo Celso and Ndombele back for next season from loan.
People actually still think Lo Celso will do well and everything that went wrong last time was all someone else's fault.

We've had the wool pulled over our eyes for so many years that we've just started to do it to ourselves.

PEH is ok, he's useful sometimes. But Skipp looks well below standard. Our midfield is literally 14th position standard. With bentancur and bissouma it's probably 6th. We need to buy a top keeper, centre back and centre mid. Basically a spine.
There in is a good description of the mess we’re in. When you(re)build a team you start at the back then down the spine . So GK, CB, CM and CFWe’ve only got the CF and it’s not nailed on we’ll have him next season. We’ve failed to fill those positions adequately in recent transfer windows. It doesn’t matter who the next manager is without 3 quality acquisitions in those positions we will struggle next season.

Didn’t even think of watching the match and to be frank I may not tune in at all if Kane leaves.

this club is doomed until Levy is gone.

I'm talking about next season and even the next three years
Nobody expected a coach to come in to us with lil money, a new stadium build and make us one of the best teams in the country.

We bought in two winners since and Kane has said we lost something from Pochs time.

There is no reason Mason can't be a success. If the players are behind him then he can succeed

Sorry to a Debbie Downer but If Levy steps down I suspect we’ll just get another ENIC suit as a front man, while nothing changes behind the scenes. This is sadly our club now - entertainment events and formula one are evidently prioritised over football.

Well this season will obviously end with a whimper. But let's be optimistic.

Next season - irrespective of any business done in the interim - we'll hopefully have our best player this season (Bentancur) back to full fitness, a rejuvenated Bissouma bossing the midfield by his side and Udogie, who I sincerely believe, will hit the ground running. This guy is a star in the making and is surely an upgrade on what we currently have. Let's hope he lives up to my hype.

Whatever about this season, whatever about this past years, Danny Boy has the biggest decision to make now. With Poch going to Chelski, he has to get the next manager appointment right. Yes it’s an understatement but fuck this, if he dosent, we are doomed. But to be honest, I don’t hold out much hope. Fuck, how much we have fallen. I’m fucking depressed

Its last chance for Levy and I know we have said that before but Id say Poch going to Chelsea adds a whole heap more pressure on Levy. Then again, it would have been easy for Levy to just appoint Poch to appease the fans.
