If we can get hold of midfield we will get back into this.... I just can't see it with the 3 we have on.

If at worst I want Bissouma on for Hojberg, might be enough, but hope for Maddison and maybe sarr also.

The problem is midfield. We’ve lost our ability to resist the press and as a result the likes of Sanchez and Davies are being exposed.

Without Bissouma and/or Maddison this system doesn’t really work imo. It’s their constant movement and offering for the ball that has made the back line so press resistant. I think we are missing Vicario in that regard too.

This is a tough lesson for Ange; it was naive to make so many changes.

Usual stuff. Play an under strength team and get dumped out of a cup competition we're quite capable of winning.
Why play such a weakened team? We've only played 3 games for christsake, and chances are we won't be playing another cup-tie until January.
These guys are not in the first team for a reason __they're not good enough. Bring one in, maybe 2, but 9 changes!!
Please, please Ang. Learn from the failures of your predecessors and play our best team __ always.

Ange’s been way too optimistic with his selection here. He better salvage it otherwise it will be a proper misstep.
Fulham away is no easy task but making all these changes is suicidal. Just want Tottenham to be serious about these cups, with no Europe and let’s be honest a less than gd chance of winning the league, this should be our focus.

I would prefer to see Spurs youngsters getting blooded rather than some of the more 'mature' players being given another run out.
The youngsters have far greater agility, pace and desire. And they carry around far less baggage than all these current lot on the pitch.

especially with how well they’ve been playing in Premier League 2. Hungry youngsters or obsolete journeymen…

The drop in quality from Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison to Hojberg, Skipp and Lo Celso is enormous.

Of course it is. A balnced idfield would include a mixture of the 6. Not dropping your two genuine world class mids in Maddison and Bissouma.

One of them HAD to start.

Interesting to see what Ange does now. First setback in a game that matters.

Great to see the support for all of our second string on here, really understanding.

Knives out for all the usual suspects. Trust the manager, until he does something unpopular.

It’s not been great, but Fulham aren’t Notts County or something.

Don’t get me wrong, there are causes for concern, particularly Richi, but there’s 45 to go yet.

There is 45 minuts left. So what do you suggest? Noone posts until FT?

Think the main problem isn’t that the back ups aren’t as good as the starters, it’s that they’re also not really suited to the football Ange wants to play.

I'd go Bissouma for Skipp, push PEH up with GLC. Then bring on Scarlett for Perisic, play Richy on the left for 10 minutes and if no improvement bring Son on for him.

GLC needs a chance with Biss and Sarr but I don't think he can play the role to the same kind of levels as Maddison. I do think he could be an option as one of the two in the pivot however.
I agree. Skipp and PEH are playing like it's Conte-ball. I think one of Sarr or Biss need to come on for PEH

A team of cloggers like this will never play decent football. GLC and Sanchez got too many people excited in a couple of meaningless friendlies. Both should be in other clubs right now with replacements in their stead, but here we are. Same old, same old.

Too many changes yet again. Why do we always do this in cup games!? We are only in two cups this year. Could be only one after tonight.

Bissouma and Udogie are the minimum changes for me at HT

Forster and Vdv the only two who weren't awful that half.
I would also add Son for Richarlison and we should have a lot more threat. Davies, Hojbjerg off too

Bet we would get lot more out of likes of Lo Celso too then.

Why can’t we take cup games seriously - we are not in Europe even this season FFS.
Just get the players on who know what they are doing this season so far.
If it was a European game we would have had our best 11 out and not those in the departure lounge.

Said it before but GLC doesn’t suit the EPL.

If a bid comes in for him, offload him.

Kulu can play there.

Alex Scott would have been good there too.
GLC has kinda been thrown under the bus here.

When Royal is your best CM you know you're in trouble.

Btw this team isn't a million miles off the one that gave Barca the run around for 2/3rd's of the game. Royal instead of Porro doesn't change a whole lot. VDV is a massive upgrade on Dier. Davies is better than Reguilon, defensively at least. The only big change is Bissouma out for Hojberg.
