A cash injection from Joe Lewis just doesn't match his MO to me. In all the time ENIC have owned the club we've lived within our means, and he's left Levy to run it as business. His history suggests someone who only wants to accumulate cash not spend it.

If we are going to splurge cash, I can only see the extra cash coming from the TV deal money.

Latest ITK makes sense to me and what I said the other week. We hear it all the time with spending big, and it never happens.
Still sceptical, but TV money, capitalising on 3 of the challenging clubs changing managers and maybe having a season of transition, added to an asset in bale to fall back on if it goes pear shaped, makes me think we may actually spend this summer.

Liverpool and Arsenal look like they plan to really spend serious, so if the ITK is true that's good we are keeping pace.

.....not with Liverpool as they need to spend another 50 million imo just to get to where we were last season

So now that's Villa, Jedvaj and Leandro who have slipped through the net... well colour me shocked.

I've got a question for ITKers out there. It's deeply troubling me...

Why was AVB and his assistant coaches Rocha and Sousa at Herne Bay yesterday! Seriously, were they there to just take in the views?

"Villas-Boas happily obliged and showed off his cheeky side, asking Mr Morris to bring over two waitresses to be in the photo, but they declined."

Even AVB fails to pull sometimes.

Some are available for the wrong price too. See Benteke or players with ridiculous buy out clauses

If AVB wants him that's good enough for me. Its all very subjective anyway. If AVB wants him and Levy can do a deal I'm happy not to worry about the exact amount. I'll roll with their judgement.

Unless it's taken this long to find a manager/team he trusts.
Perhaps he sees AVB WANTS his Fergie, someone who will stay for 10 to 20 years.
I can't see it myself but you never know lol.

Paulinho - Paulinho - Paulinho
Paulinho - Paulinho - Paulinho

Would be a stronger front 6 imo.

Why? If AVB wants him and is convinced he's the missing piece of the jigsaw and Lewis is prepared to get the wallet out why get so wound up over the fee.

I guess because Aston Villa bought Benteke for around £7 mil a year ago. From what i understand from previous ITK its not necessarily AVB saying he is the missing piece. I will be happy if we got him i would just worry £23 mil will massively impact our transfer budget going forward, if it doesn't and we end up with Bernard anyway then happy days. However i would have like to have found our own Benteke and i still think Bony was a missed opportunity at £13 mil. I am not at all wound up, just voicing my thoughts on our potential transfer business. Obviously Ben will be an upgrade on what we have and i will be happy to have him.
