Bye, bye Dawson.

It will leave us with Kaboul, Vertonghen, Gallas, Caulker, Bassong. Plus Livermore and Walker can both cover centreback in an emergency.

I say sell now.

Looks like Bassong has gone too mate.

Personally i wouldn't be shocked if Carvalho comes in as part of the Modric deal.

A few need to read between the lines a bit more. Ade is coming and it now seems likely that Leandro will join him.
Explanations for this view are littered thoughout the last couple of days ITK and Twitter threads.

A general healthy skepticism doesn't hurt, though: Not all transfer news are leaked to the ITKs, not all ITK is correct, and most ITK - even if it is correct - doesn't come through for one reason or another. Hence: reading through the lines on ITK quite simply ain't enough to figure out what's going on.

Having said that, though, I expect Ade (we all do) and someone young and talented to come in; but I'd be surprised if it was Leandro.

Interesting that Dawson is going, He was a good servant and an excellent squad player but nothing really more than that. Prone to howlers and the long ball hoof but I cannot fault his attitude and his love of Spurs. it's a shame more players can't be like him in that respect and I just wish he was a little bit more switched on upstairs so he could still be a part of the squad.

If he does leave I wish him all the best and he will be a massive asset to whichever club he moves to.

I guess that means Carvalho will come in then?

I would prefer Dawson tbh, younger and well respected around the club.

However he also deserves to be playing regular football and he does seem to be behind Kaboul, Gallas and I would imagine Vertonghen now. If he does go then good luck to him. I'm sure he'll want a good run of games as he tries to make the world cup squad.

Which POTL immediately rebuffed didn't he?

Things can change quickly but that is a massive turnaround considering AVB was talking about him as potential captain.

Again with this, you need to re-check the context of those quotes and when they were made.

Interesting that we've accepted bids for Dawson. AVB must have been impressed with Caulker as that would leave our centre back options as Kaboul, Vertonghen, Gallas and Caulker.

All this talk of outgoings is all well and good, but where is the incoming player news? Where is it?! RARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Cya Daws. Great man and a fantastic personality, but we need better if we want to hit the heights we all want.

Yes, it does seem strange to be touted as the club captain to then being deemed surplus to requirements.

Either AVB was misquoted or like I said before, the deal proposed was far too good to turn down and that the board were ultimately pushing this deal through.

What's Dawson on at the club - 40/50k?

So we'll be left with Vertonghen, Kaboul, Gallas and Caulker then? If that is the case we'll need one in because Gallas will spend quite a bit of time injured.....

Quite surprised at this, as I think Daws is a decent player. Hope we're not left short by the end of the window. However, ILWT.
