Gonna give it to Winks, was all over the pitch looking for the ball, and getting stuck in when needed, also carried us forward with purpose.

Sissoko was good until the injury Kane and Alli, get a smack on the bums for god awful finishing.

Eriksen was wishy washy until he dropped deeper.

Tripper (Just as well no Genies were hanging around outside my house as if they'd asked me what i wanted during that game when i was distracted i may be having sex with Trippier right now... )

Thought Davies was fine on the other side.

Son huffed and puffed but produced little in the way of quality.

Lamela came on and whether directly or indirectly our link up play improved and space between the lines opened up.

Created enough to win 3 games, but finishing cost us ultimately.

Verts and Toby did fine, Jan even made Lingard look pretty slow at one point (lucky it wasn't Rashford though :cautious:)

Didn't see the replay of Lloris for the goal (as i was too busy replacing the now smashed screen ) so can't comment on if he should've done better or not.

Aurier and KWP should question why Poch keeps picking Trippier despite him making key mistakes over and over.

Ashley Young isn't a good defender, Son and Davies not attacking his area and repeatedly cutting inside (usually into traffic) in the second half was awful.

The formation has to change with Sissoko (and Kane) being injured and Son not available.

Winks must be in the red zone now, Skipp has to get his fair share of minutes in the upcoming games.
I wonder how well Trippier's repeated selection and play in these big matches has gone over in the locker room? The players have to see the issue just as well as we do. It's not just that Trippier has played poorly but that both KWP and Aurier have played well and shown promise when given the opportunity this season. Trippier has to be dropped.

I thought that Winks was great today but he's going to need help. The Sissoko injury did not look good and if he's out for any length of time we're going to have a huge problem.

Don't want to bang the same old drum about investment but that Utd are a shell of what Utd used to be and when you don't invest you end up losing these sort of games. They were there for the taking and if we had more depth in our squad in my opinion we could have taken all 3 from that game.

Bad finishing, bad luck, but can't believe some of the shit on here..... We opened them up at will and finishing apart were very good.

Lloris 6 - De Gea would've saved that goal. He is not very good at shots from acute angles unfortunately.
Trippier 3 - Terrible.
Toby 7 - Solid but should've scored.
Verts 7 - Solid.
Davies 5 - Nothing going forward - pretty much like the whole season. Why is he starting ahead of Rose? Can't our FBs start two games in a row anymore?
Winks 6.5 - Played well overall but my dear his shooting is an embarrasment for a PL player.
Sissoko 7 - Great until injury - been playing too much and in the end it had to go tits up.
Dele 6 - Just infuriating me with taking too long, too many touches and has so little urgency. Poor finish also.
Eriksen 6 - 4 for 1st half, 7.5 for second half
Son 6 - Not at the races today.
Kane 6 - His finishing this season is not up to his usual standard.

Lamela 6 - disappointing cameo compared to his usual ones.
Llorente 6 - should've scored and assisted Kane but poor pass again.

Poch 4 - why do we have to rotate FBs for every game, why do we have to play our worst and slowest FBs against teams with the quickest forwards? Stupid.

Just like Hazard midweek, now DeGea was outstanding.
It wasn't just he made the saves but he cleared the ball from danger.
Utd played very positively which is nice to see and I guess they deserved a bit of luck because of it.
Our title race is finished now if it ever started, not so much because of the 3pts but the weakness of the squad is being exposed.
MOM Winks, the last midfielder standing.

I know Man u are on the up and improving since throwing Jose overboard but de gea had one of those games where it all goes right for him despite the rest of his team being plain ordinary, we should/could have had 5 goals but for his poxy legs. We, on the other hand, had that fucking liability Trippier making things even easier for them.
But, swings and roundabouts ........

Sadly tripps have the ball away a few times in the same way before Pog got wise. Sadly that makes him worthy of the shit (this week)

I only managed to watch the second half and I didn’t think we played too badly but Depth in our squad is a bit of a concern going forward, especially with son out for the next few weeks, possibly sissoko and maybe even Kane (who was limping at the end)

We don’t seem to have much depth in the middle, with Dembele off to China, and wanyama still out.

Up top if anything happens to Kane, can llorente play that many games? Do we have the option to recall Jansen?

He's in the u23 atm. But Poch won't use him.

Couldn’t agree more. Long way to travel
To see us lose but boy did we play in the second half. Only Tripps for me played poorly but he was better in the second half when we attacked.
Will choose MOTM later

I agree with poch when he said its the best he feel I his time. There was at least 3 sequences of play which if there was a finish on the end would of been goal of the season, not for the finish but for the team play. The one in the the first half when trippier f'd the pull back / cross was gorgeous football.

We peppered there goal second half. We were creating a good clear chance abut once every 3 minutes. Unbelievable. How do. We not score.

Lloris needs to do better at this type of goal and needs to read the striker better. Only one place that's going and yet overcompensates his near post. This is regular. Lloris needs to fix up in this area and learn. Read the shot. 5.5

Trippier.... Once again. Where was aurier? Not on bench. Had licence to play very high. Fluffed the ops for good bits as well as costing us again with a telegraph pass. 4

Davies. Decent 6

Toby and Jan... 7

Son was a bit off... Didnt really influence but.. 6

Kane dele winks eriksen all between 7 an 9 at times but never at the same time. The play was gorgeous at times.

Sissoko. Sad fact of his injury. He don't pull his groin.. That chance they scored never happens. Poch said as much and I feel the same. 7

Llorente.. 6
Lamela some good bits 7

MOM Toby(8) for calm control at the back.
None of the forwards deserve it today.
Game of two halves.
Two weakest full backs (5) against greased lightning forwards.
Winks and Sissoko(7) played well. Neither can shoot. Odd that.
Dele and Eriksen played well second half (7)
Lamela (6) didn't offer much.
Lloris(7) should have done better on the goal
but made some good stops when required.
Verts(7) didn't do much wrong.

I repeat 'How the fuck did we lose that?'
11 Shots straight at De Gea.

Great second half performance. Battled to the end, which has paid off for us plenty of times this season, but just couldn’t get over the line today. Having Verts back was great to see. We look far more solid in a back 4 when he’s in the line, with him and Toby covering their natural flanks supporting Davies and Trippier.

That was a resurgent Utd with plenty of attacking threat. They even showed their threat in the away game earlier this season when they were wasteful with some great chances to score.

Despite that, a dumb Trippier error was key today, and then a combination of some wayward finishing, the world’s best GK having an unreal worldie today, and just some horrible bad luck! Reminded me of England Poland ’73 for any of us old enough to recall. We absolutely battered them second half, but got no reward.

Not surprised Sissoko pulled up; him and Winks have been pushed to their limits with our injury crisis in CM!

I agree that he could have utilized a bit more in terms of options and rotation with our FBs and possibly strikers, but, in reality, Poch’s really squeezed the max out of his squad and the hand he’s been given re injuries.

We simply need investment in our squad. It’s currently top 4 standard, but not of title-challenging quality; and if we’re not careful and proactive, that standard will inevitably drop lower.

Honestly thought we were outstanding for all of the second half, and aside from a poor 15 minute spell in the first half, it was a glittering display really.

Had we finished of some of those lovely moves it would of been right up there with one of our performances of the season.

We absolutely battered them in the second half and whoever said Pogba ran the game is talking absolute rubbish.

Trippier is a great attacking asset but he just can't defend to the required level consistently enough, thats it really. Poch needs to be cut throat and if that isn't the last nail now, I'll be extremely surprised.

Lloris pulled off a stunning save but for the goal you do wonder a little. Top keeper but have felt he's had a few of these sort of questionable moments this season, it's like they're becoming gradually more frequent. I dont know maybe that's harsh.

Winks was the standout though, love the tempo this guy can play at, really upped our tempo and was the hub for that second half assault.

On another day, not even counting Alderweireld'chance, Kane has two and Dele at least one.

3-1 would of been an accurate reflection of the game, but if you can't finish you don't deserve anything unfortunately no matter how good you are.

Harsh lesson.

I'm not gonna do ratings as I can't be bothered but a few observations -

Tactically United were spot on in the first half with the split strikers exploiting the space behind our full backs

A lazy poor pass from Trippier, who is limited, opens us up for their goal

Winks is really one footed which I've never noticed before

Sissoko injury allowed Pogba the licence to run the game. They were physically superior to us in the middle of the park and we need another option in centre midfield

Lamela was poor when he came on and didn't look up to speed nor did he have his usual aggression. Missed Lucas off the bench today

Lindelof was excellent best I've seen him play

Still could have won the game had it not been for some top saves from their keeper
Pogba ran the show?

He never got a sniff second half!
