Where Will We Finish This Season...?

Its the time of year when everyone thinks every Utd, Chelsea, City signing is a fail proof bona fide league winner because Sky Sports and the other media are falling all over them. Just like they did with Di Maria, Depay, and co over the last couple seasons.

We did actually have a great side with a great manager last season if you remember correctly, and.. its the same side this season. so I expect us to be right up in the mix again, nothing to suggest otherwise

Grow a pair chaps. We are 3 games into the season.

I think we will click soon enough and start to show our depth and team philosophy. But, and this is a big but, if we continue with these draws and such as we did last year, we will see a lower finish. Teams have improved and so we must walk away with a better PPM.

Why 3rd? I like our identity. A bit blue collared with flair sprinkled in. I also foresee a couple youngsters making there names known.

Tough call. I think it boils down to how we handle CL and how far we progress.

If we have a good run in CL, does that mentality translate to the league or are we stretched thin physically? If we have a mediocre run, finish 3rd in the group and get dropped to EL, how does that affect the team and how does management approach the competition? If we finish 4th in the group, does that allow us to focus on the league like Chelsea and Liverpool?

A likely battle for 4th with the scum. Chels/City and Manure can still shell out heavily in January to fill gaps and bring in further re-reinforcements for the run-in. We just can't compete with that.

I'd have had us in the title mix more if we'd have bought Isco and Teilemans.

If we can get CL again I'd be ecstatic tbh. Would really help with next summer's window to get the final pieces of the jigsaw.

I think 5th personally, we still haven't finished above Arsenal and I think it's going to be between us and them for fourth this season personally and they have the psychological edge, I hope I am wrong and we finish even higher than 4th but this year is far more competitive than last and we can't compete with the sort of money United and City have thrown around and Chelsea for that matter.

I would say Liverpool as well but we played like shit the other day and they were all over us and still couldn't finish us off so I can't see them being near fourth also because their defending is woeful and I think once we click we will go on a run like we did last season.

But seriously, could be anywhere from 1st through to 6th. We need to start putting wins on the table, simple as that.

Come Christmas we'll get a good picture as to where we can finish, but stop this slow start and tonnes of draws and turn a few into wins.

This...and it applies to the top six clubs in the BPL and maybe a dark horse or two.

Voted 4th - largely because I do believe we have a strong chance of top four. But that is not ruling out higher or lower.

5th if we are lucky or our competitors all have a crap season. We simply didn't get all the right players to push us to another level.
6th-7th if they all have a blinder and we don't get over the CL blues or lose focus on the games before the CL games. Leicester and Liverpool will give us a run for our money and both teams have strengthened better than we have.

that rating is the closest rating we have for "BORING". how many times have you stated that over the last 2 days, and when asked who we should of bought that's better than what we already have, that should be stuck on the bench, you fail to answer.

we had the youngest staring XI last season, who are now a season more experienced, we have a stronger squad, who should we have signed? and please remember we might of struggled to get Pogba at 90mil and pay way over our wage structure

well if they finish above us they will do so before March this season, because for the 1st time in ages their last 10 fixtures are pretty tough to the easy finish they have had the last 5 or more seasons

Someone who can dribble through defenses and get us a goal via hook or by crook when it matters. 2. A Saido Mane type of player. Someone who Poch has spoken about admiring and who is exactly the type of player that fits his philosophy. A fast player with the skills and tenacity to close down defenses and make things happen up the pitch.

And before you say it yes they would have been in addition to getting Janssen..

Yeah, I initially desperately wanted him as well. But as time went on, I read more about how he was a 'poisonous character' and I got turned off. I suspect that happened with us as well.

A Hazard type player = £50m+ and most probably demand over £100k a week and wouldn't want to sit on the bench, meaning Eriksen (ok has had a slow start, just like last season), Alli a player that surprised many last season in that he fitted straight into to a League that was so much higher than he started, and Lamela who was 1 of our best players of the season. 1 of those 3 being dropped to the bench (and before you state Alli v Palace, he was ill), and upset the harmony we built last season that helped create our best ever PL finish.

Mane I agree a player that looks very good for Liverpool, though I believe his disciplinary record will let him down, will always pick up the odd yellow for diving, but was always going to go to Liverpool for £125k a week with our wage structure that definitely couldn't change this season with 4k seats missing, even if we wanted too.

as has been mentioned our best XI were unbeaten last season, this season we have strengthened our squad, so hopefully when Dembele is missing it won't hurt us, or when Dele is missing it won't hurt us, if Kane needs a rest hopefully by then Janssen will of found his scoring boots.

whatever happened in the transfer window, even if we had found a diamond or 2 (which we still might of) due to the money the present top 3 have spent, we could never compete in the transfer market.

and having a dribbler to break down those bus parkers, we only failed to score against 1 of those last season, our problem was not holding onto the lead against them, not something someone that can dribble, can stop.

He's so talented that at £16m I think it's worth the gamble. You'd just have to hope that Poch and our professional locker room would straighten him out.
