6th for me. I don't think we have taken full advantage the position we found ourselves in as a CL club and bought accordingly. The big 3 have strengthened considerably and are already 4 points clear of us after 3 game. AFC have bought a very good DM & CB though they still lack a proper CF and finally LFC have plenty of goals in them + no European distraction, Klopp will sort that defence out too.

I am far from convinced we can play a 10 month season playing the MP way, has any side he has ever managed done so without dropping off....?

I don't think we 'dropped off' at the end of last season. It was purely mental. We shat it.

Nah seriously, as I say most years I think it will be in the bracket between 3rd and 7th. Too close to call between the various teams but if we can have consistency of performances again, with things like our pressing and work rate in particular, then I'm confident we will be very competitive again.

Anyone else listening to Talksport now? We are the subject of a debate about the Transfer Window. While Andy Durham is entitled to his views, its the brain dead Spurs fan who are calling that are doing my head in.

5th if we are lucky or our competitors all have a crap season. We simply didn't get all the right players to push us to another level.
6th-7th if they all have a blinder and we don't get over the CL blues or lose focus on the games before the CL games. Leicester and Liverpool will give us a run for our money and both teams have strengthened better than we have.

Maybe I am overly optimistic, but I don't see any team that is demonstrably better than we are right now. We have the league's best defensive unit. We have, arguably, the best central midfield combo in two of Dier/Dembele/Wanyama/Sissoko. Pogba and Pick-a-player are good, but I think we neutralize any mid-field combo with our size and strength. Our attacking options are good - maybe not great - but certainly among the top few in the league - judging by the 2nd in the league in goals scored last season. We have dramatically upgraded our bench options this season. We can send in subs to chase a game, or kill off a game. We can bring on pace, or we can bring on steel.

United have put together the best team money can buy - but can they do it for 38 games? Pep is a great manager, but can he take a team that does not have the best talent in the league and make them better? Nobody knows that right now. Conte has inspired Chelsea, but they still rely on an aging defense - can it hold up all season? Seems unlikely. Arsenal - we are better than Arsenal, and we have greater strength and fortitude. I am not worried about Arsenal this year - I think they finally miss out on CL, in Wenger's final season.

But, we have to believe in ourselves imo. The players and coaches believe. Its time for the supporters to believe in them also.

Ugh, I can't game us out any higher than 5th. Think we'll stay ahead of Liverpool - our window was better than theirs - but United, City and Chelsea look ridiculously back to form this season, and Arse will just chug along and pip us by the usual point and 4 goals or whatever.

Pool's defence still looks shit though, after a full summer with captain crazy - and their left back lineup is ropey as hell.

4th for us I reckon, maybe we'll fall short of that but I still fancy us to finish ahead of Pool.

7-10. I think this season will be too much for us - obviously hope I'm wrong. I think our first team is still to young and has no steel, I think our depth is weak & I think other teams ariund us have improved a lot more than we have

Can't see us getting past the 2 mancs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arse for sure which already puts us 6th, & you have to assume an outsider or 2 will have a breakout season

7-10

You could count the number of games we were dominated in on one hand last season. Until the shitty end we gave pretty much everyone a very good game even in defeat. Can't see us dropping that much.
