Must have been written by a gooner if they think Arse had a better window than Chelsea/Villa and the same as us!
Haha. Although they did have a very good window too. Addressed their weak spots (CB, CDM) whilst adding some other established quality to the squad, Willian. And also not losing a key player.

But I agree with your point overall. Chelsea and villa had at least as good a window as them. If not better. Us too obviously

Not sure I agree with everyones’ praise of Chelseas window. Their biggest problem is at CB, and they filled it with an over the top bloke from the French league. I hope he plays against us next time, Son and Kane will have a field day.

They did have a good window. So I get it. I also tend to agree that Chelsea's window didn't really fully cover the problem positions. Though, they had a lot of work to do really as their squad was ageing and needed renewing before the transfer ban.

But it's all very lazy. Villa being marked a B because they let go of two strikers and only bought one in. I assume they mean Borja and Samatta. Borja played 2 games all season. Aston Villa have three strikers. They don't need more, it's not hard to look these things up.

Also Wolves' window has been, well bad, and potentially a car crash. Semedo is not a 37m player in this market, and is a player who really struggled to convince at Barca. Buying an 18 year old with barely any game time for 35m seems like a very risky move. I mean, I'm sure he's talented and it might pay off but it's absurd amount for someone who is not remotely proven in Portugal. But the bigger problem is that this is the de facto replacement for Jota. They bought a left back who has played 40 league games in 4 years, and a bunch of young Portuguese players and youth players who are actually already getting minutes. I mean, this is a team that was already short on players to begin with and now they've sold experience and replaced it with, hoping that somehow these kids will be able to contribute. Very worried for Wolves.

Agree with this. Chelsea's window is being called good because they spent big money on big players.

Can they honestly say they have addressed their issues though? Defensively still look poor, will Mendy, Thiago Silva and Chilwell fix this? It remains to be seen.

Whilst Ziyech, Havertz and Werner look great signings on paper and certainly add strong depth in the forward areas. The question remains with Abraham, Giroud, Mount, Hudson-Odoi and Pulusic already there could one of those signings been a top class defender instead?

This is what's bugging me a lot, people unable to apply any critical thinking at all and think that Chelsea have had a stellar window on the basis that they've spent £200m and bought a lot of good forwards. Their biggest weakness by a mile last season was their defence, conceded on average 2 goals a game so they bring in a 6ft, 36 year old CB who doesn't speak English and an attacking Left back. Between the players that they already had at the club in the forward positions I'd say there's enough goals there, okay fine Abrahams needed competition so Werner isn't a bad buy although he's very different from Giroud and Abrahams and Ziyech is a good buy to replace William, fair. Apart form that Havertz is complete overkill, Mendy is unproven and not a giant step up from Kepa. IMO if they would have bought in Lewis Dunk that would have been a far better option at the back as he's an organiser.

The biggest problem Lampard faces is integrating them all into the team, I think there's going to be a fare few of them expecting to play, I don't think he's ready to control those ego's yet...and also a small matter of being able to setup a defence.

Couldn't put it better myself.

Was almost tempted to re write the words in the image I had screen shotted due to these. But couldn’t be bothered and mistakenly thought no one would care too much. Very wrong of me ?

Unfortunately my wife is a big Chelsea fan so I see a lot of their games and I've come to the same conclusion. It's all about them spending loads on coveted players but from what I've seen of it all so far I've not been overly impressed.

Werner and Havertz are big names and clearly talented but so far I've not been wowed by them at all. I'm struggling to see Havertz add anything that Mount wasn't already doing to be honest. Abraham I'm getting less and less convinced by over time, Hudson-Odoi even more so. They lost a good player in Willian too.

I do really rate Ziyech and Pulisic so maybe that will be the key to unlocking the other too, it is incredibly early still.

Chillwell is the only one that looks a bonafide improvement to me, but even then Alonso popped up with a fair few goals for LB for them.

The big question marks I have are everywhere else on the pitch, plus the coach himself. I think unless he's playing the low block and counter vs big sides his high press philosophy leaves them very exposed defensively.

They haven't touched their midfield despite looking weak whenever Kante is out, and his injury record seems to be getting worse every year. Jorginho is massively lightweight and Kovacic flits in and out of most games.

Centre back is the big worry. Zouma is handy on his day but suffers from lapses in concentration quite regularly (like Sanchez for us). Silva seems a huge gamble in a team that plays a high line in such a tough league as the PL. He was woeful at WBA. Christensen is just awful.

Kepa was a travesty but early impressions of Mendy suggest he is far from a safe pair of hands. Has flapped at a few crosses already.

I can see them being turned over a fair few times this season, as well as racking up some big wins, so pretty much unchanged from last season. I've seen nothing to suggest they should be a lock for 3rd, personally I think both us and Arsenal look better set for an improved season than them. Arteta just looks a much better coach to me than Frank, I think the added pressure this season will affect him.

Even in their 4-0 at the weekend I never really could see their attackers scoring, which they didn't. Palace were very passive and Sakho had one of his nightmares which played into Chelsea's hands.

One things for sure Man Unt leaking goals get a striker a winger and a full back if this strategy is down to OLE he needs to move on if its down to Woodward then they are doomed as it is obvious defenders are needed .What is going on at Old Trafford ? it seems so scattergun with no plan .

To be fair Woodward is probably thinking he paid a shitload for defenders last season and they still can't defend. Would they really be that much better with more CB"s coming in? I doubt it personally.

Woodward is a problem but ole is clueless and tactically naive both need to go to turn them around imo.

It’s seemed like that ever since SAF and David Gill left though - I’m no fan of Solskjaer but the common denominator since 2013 has been Woodward.

Let’s hope neither of them go anywhere anytime soon....

Poch will be in by Christmas.

Utd try not sack managers that quickly and I don't think they'd want to upset a club legend like that, I see him lasting until the end of the season unless his situation becomes untenable.
