Am I reading this right? Had we won in Famagusta we would have added another point to our coefficient and therefore have been in pot 1 instead of Anderlecht?

Nope, the coefficient system is complied annually, in the summer. We would have received an extra half point for beating Famagusta, but that would only come into play when determining next seasons coefficient.

Per Annexe II of the Uefa Cup regulations,

Going to Bayern Munchen would be a great tie, and a great test for us (and also an opportunity to become the only English team other than Norwich to win there)

Bayern Munchen
Tottenham
Athletico Madrid
Toulouse (especially if they play as cluelessly as they did against Liverpool)
Aberdeen

...would be a good group to be drawn, although Aberdeen away for us would obviously be a much trickier tie than any of the others... A trip to Greece wouldn't go a miss... Norway, Denmark or Sweden at that time of year wouldn't be terribly appetising...

Yes, that's what I believe.

Next season, should we qualify and do reasonably well this season, we will be in pot 1. Although I'm not sure if there'd be much advantage, I guess the teams in pot1 are slightly tougher and it would mean we play pot 2 teams at home which would give us another advantage.

If by some chance we get into the CL, we'd be probably be in the 3rd pot (of 4). Given that you play everyone home and away we wouldn't have a much easier ride in pot 3 than pot 4, pot 1 and 2 contain the real hard nuts and getting into one of them would almost guarantee progress to the knockout round

The draw starts tomorrow, Tuesday, at 11am BST.

We've not been seeded. The pots are indicative of clubs 'co-efficients'.

Not quite sure how Athletico Madrid, Fiorentina, Galatasary and Everton are 'pot 3' teams - going by some of the teams in pots 1 and 2.

I've highlighted who I think are the tournaments big guns.

Pot one: Villarreal (Spa) UEFA co-efficent 78.374, Bayern Munich (Ger) 73.640, AZ Alkmaar (Hol) 63.995, Panathinaikos (Gre) 55.415, Basle (Swi) 54.869, Bordeaux (Fra) 49.706, Bayer Leverkusen (Ger) 45.640, Anderlecht (Bel) 41.594.

Pot two: Tottenham (Eng) 40.618, Lokomotiv Moscow (Rus) 38.920, Zenit St Petersburg (Rus) 38.920, Sparta Prague (Cze) 37.851, AEK Athens (Gre) 36.415, Hamburg (Ger) 34.640, Bolton (Eng) 32.618, Austria Vienna (Aut) 30.104.

Pot three: Spartak Moscow (Rus) 27.920, Braga (Por) 27.107, Galatasaray (Tur) 26.791, Getafe (Spa) 25.374, Atletico Madrid (Spa) 25.374, Everton (Eng) 24.618, Fiorentina (Ita) 21.808, Stade Rennais (Fra) 20.706.

Pot four: Hapoel Tel Aviv (Isr) 19.338, Red Star Belgrade (Ser) 19.256, Copenhagen (Den) 19.129, Toulouse (Fra) 17.706, Dinamo Zagreb (Cro) 17.533, Panionios (Gre) 16.415, Nuremberg (Ger) 14.640, Mlada Boleslav (Cze) 13.851.

Pot five: Aris Thessaloniki (Gre) 13.415, Aberdeen (Sco) 11.064, FC Zurich (Swi) 9.869, Larissa (Gre) 8.415, Aalborg (Den) 7.129, Brann (Nor) 6.509, Elfsborg (Swe) 4.478, Helsingborgs (Swe) 3.478.

SkyBets odds for winners:

Bayern Munich 3/1
Tottenham 8/1
Athletico Madrid 9/1
Villareal 12/1
Everton 16/1
Fiorentina 20/1
Panathinaikos 50/1
Galatasaray 66/1
AEK Athens 66/1

I think you are underestimating the Russian teams. They are capable of giving us alot of trouble, especially in Russia.

Fortunately, we can only play Spartak at this stage and they'll have to come to the Lane. They're currently top of the Russian league with Zenit. Absolutely not to be dismissed. CSKA actually won the thing three years ago.
