Villa and Deulofeu double swoop.... Maybe with the acquisition of Naymar he is feeling a little uncertain about his roll at the club... Quick AVB, get in there and sell tottenham life to him before barcerlona reassure him that he will be as important as Messi one day. DO IT NOW!

who's Naymar? is he Neymar's romulan clone/nemisis? or a new player I've not heard of?

If we sign Paulinho then it will be interesting to see how we set up at home. Obviously we all think Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele as a middle 3. I agree! But where's the creativity??? To play 4-3-3 you need 3 attacking players who can all score. Currently we will be playing with Bale - Ade - Lennon. Yes Bale scores! Ade is great when he decides to turn up for a few weeks but Lennon is just a pure winger and will never have enough goals in him to command that attacking spot..

You know what? I'll say it, it'll probably get laughed out of here BUT what on earth is wrong with Sigurdsson being the player who does what Lennon can't? The lad is a very good goalscorer, he moves with good intelligence & doesn't panic when an opportunity presents itself. I may be mental but I'm baffled as to why he's not being mentioned with a bit more regularity?

Also, there are many of you saying we should sell Lennon because he's a winger & doesn't suit 4-3-3, which is correct. However, I have no doubt whatsoever that we will not only be playing 4-3-3, AVB is not that static in his thought process. There will be matches where a change of shape & personnel will be a necessity, whether from the start, or circumstances dictate it after kick-off. We will, in my opinion, struggle to find a better option than Lennon for the fee we could get for him, whilst it's also worth remembering just how many times we'd have been in deep shit if Lennon wasn't ready, willing & able to get back & bail Walker out of the shit when he had one of his many & far too regular brain farts.

Also, we still have the much maligned Clit Dempsey who, for all his detractors and haters, is a very capable goalscorer & is still the only attacker we have who actually has the willingness & desire to attack the ball when it gets into the area.

So the wanker is waiting for bigger club to come in if he does well, I wouldn't be that fussed if missed as for that money we could get someone like kondogbia and probably have change
no, the wanker is waiting for the international competition to finish before signing if he is at all signing for spurs
which is what should be expected really, whilst he is representing his country in the conf cup.

Very good points and i generally agree! Sig can defo play in that position. I also think Lennon is a great player but he needs to be more confident with his shooting. Many times he's cut inside and everyone is thinking SHOOT yet he tries to pick out a pass for Defoe etc. In regards to Dempsey you can't argue with his goals and contribution to the team but i'm going to be a bastard and just say i don't like the guy and he's not a Tottenham player in my eyes. Not a great argument but just my opinion.

Im sorry but i dont get this attitude...
Why should he have any affinity for us and not wait until the end of the tournament like pretty much every other player at that conf cup before deciding their future?!

We dont know that he is holding out, like Villa he may simply be wanting to concentrate on the competition. Or even if he is waiting for offers, who can blame him? Its a job, he wants the best for him, he will wait to see what his options are!

If we sign him, great, if he rejects us for a better offer then so be it, but im not sure we need to get stroppy.
I think the holding off on signing is more in respect to the mission at hand for him and the Brazil squad. They are in the midst of a tournament in their home country that obviously carries some importance. Any distraction at this time that isn't necessary should be avoided. Paulinho would most likely be hounded as he would be leaving Brazil for the EPL.
Yea i was being harsh, sorry Mr Paulinho:oops:

But I just don't trust brazilian third party signings and to be fair there could be a argument for him to sign now and gets his future sorted so he can focus instead of having clubs chase him and link him and get asked questions about it

I personally think that if Sig had got the run of games that Dempsey was afforded in the middle of the season, he would've scored just as many 'important goals' and would also have contributed far more compared to the multiple non existent displays Dempsey also put in. Sig showed at the end of the season that he also has that knack for being in the right place at the right time, and to me, the Dempsey 'important goals' argument is fairly redundant

He also had some of the shittiest luck of any of our players this season (bar the injured ones).

Speaking of which, did you notice Barca are already working to recoup their investment: his name is now "Neymar jr" (for Brazil at least) - an extra £4 on shirt names there!

I agree with this sentiment. siggy is an AM and a VERY good AM at that. been played out of position all season and while he initially struggled I do believe he will show his class this season once he gets the AM role. if we're going for the 2 players for every position role then we have 2 box to box midfielders, 2 DM's (including parker in this) and 2 AM's (siggy and holtby). Holtby has already said that he thinks his best role is in front of the back 4 so i dont think we'll be doing much more in terms of midfield options after we sign paulinho. if we need another AM i think we'll be heading into the youth squad with pritchard looking to be ready. we'll probably bring in 2 strikers and flog off defoe and that will be our 3 players. end of transfer window.

DL will probably add "00" to the end of every players squad number. Lloris 100, etc

I can see it now......

Levy: Welcome to the club Mr José Paulo Bezerra Maciel Júnior
Paulinho: Thank you
Levy: What would you like on the back of your shirt?
Paulinho: Just Paulinho.
Levy: You'll have José Paulo Bezerra Maciel Júnior and fucking like it. ****.

On another note doesn't the 'inho' bit in Paulinho mean 'little'........As in Levyinho :sneaky:
