To think less than 3 weeks ago people were fapping relentlessy while typing out formation upon formation including Villa and Soldado as part of front 3. How times have changed...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We may well be in for Bernard in a big way, but I`m sure AMs 25m Euro valuation of the player will soon dampen DLs interest.

For us to progress to a regular CL club surely Levy does just have to "pay up".

The smoke screen idea was nonsense, we were in for Benteke it's just we wouldn't pay him or Villa. Disappointing.

A frugal attitude seems to be hindering our ambitions.

If we're playing 4-3-3 this season I can see us going for Remy and Bernard.

This.

Said it yesterday as well in here...when JJ said that there was loads of interest in Townsend going. I was saying don't rule out Bernard because one person said so - things change etc....if we got good money for Townsend, who's stock is high, I doubt many will be complaining if it goes towards getting Bernard.

With Bale in the middle and Remy on the right?

I don't think Bale and Remy have enough movement/ability off the ball to trouble deep sitting defences/be in the right places for Bernard's through balls. Both are best starting from the half way line with a defence caught out of shape. We need a more subtle CF like Soldado or Leandro.

Don't agree.

Benteke's agent played it very well. Either Spurs would pay him or Villa would pay him. He's tripled his wages, which we could easily afford (£60k ish). Villa's £28m or whatever price tag is crazy, Randy Lerner has been briefing the press that Spurs bid £22m and it was rejected.

Once it became obvious to the agent that Spurs and Villa wouldn't agree, they turned back to discussing it with Villa. Yesterday was the first time they'd offered a formal contract.

£22m is not 'a frugal attitude' in this case. It shows how high they are willing to go, though...

I think everyone knows my unhealthy obsession with Bernard but I can't even muster the strength to get excited about it... The transfer window has well and truly beaten me.

Genuinely can see Remy or someone or similar ilk and Chadli being our dealings.

It's stick or twist for Levy now.

Soldado + Bernard

Or

Chadli + Remy

Guess we'll then find out post Baldini who is still calling the transfer shots.

sometimes you have to do the deal but DL wont....I think we will have the same crew this year in attack and maybe pick up a tennager with potential...that will be it

With debts of around 350 mill euro and the Provincial Government taking over the affairs of the club because they defaulted on loans that the government guaranteed saying they don't need to sell him is just so much hot air and posuring in an attempt to get better offers. Unless they can find a huge financial benefactor then they will have few options. The potential deal with Orozco stalled late last year and they have been scratching around to try and find commercial deals but so far nothing has come to fruition

Of course knowing us they'll probably get some rich Arab to take over a day before we finalise a deal for Soldano :D

Yes this was my point, they want as much money as they can get for him which is why I don't see Soldado being anything under £20m

What may work in our favour though is that it looks like we're the only club in for him so it could be a Levy deadline day signing ala Lloris.

I for one wouldn't mind Remy, thought he was one of the brighter spots for QPR last year along with Townsend in the second half of the season. Also versatile enough to play one of two positions for us in a 4-3-3-.

With that said, would only want Remy if it meant splashing the cash on Bernard. If we can't land Bernard, would rather go for Soldado.

I'd more than happily take Bernard and Remy and that be our dealings done.

Even ignoring that Remy isn't very good/suited to us, I'd be a bit morally uncomfortable with him coming to us. At worst he's a high-profile Marlon King or Ched Evans, and at best he's just a nasty piece of work.
