B4 the TW opened, would have taken benteke, hell NO.
as the TW speculation started i thought him not bad really just becos spurs needed a striker. Got desperate and looked at his positives while neglecting the other aspect. He was on form last season, breaks into the Belgium national team which must be stated that that team is not really blessed with top strikers.

ok, Ade was pants last season and benteke was great.
however Ade of two seasons back compared to benteke of last season, who would i take, diff has to be Ade.

20m is a gamble oil rich clubs cam afford, not us. We can gamble on 6m player just like a west ham can gamble on a 3m player.

without tempting faith, we will get what we need for the team, and those expecting baldini to pull a player out of his magical hat will have to wait, as its all a long term strategy getting him on board.

I'm expecting Loic Remy to be our only signing from now on. Just want the window to end now tbh and get on with the football.

Remy would be a good signing IMO, perfect for a 433 but is he an upgrade on what we already have? (Based on his performances last season).

Really hope one of the reasons we didn't spend £20m on Teke is because we are spending it on Bernard!
Remy can play wing forward, and hit the ground running at Qpr.... I wouldn't mind him at all... The caveat? Only if Bernard was bought too...

IIRC JJ said the case was very weak against him. Can't help feeling he's innocent until proven guilty... These allegations happen loads. Not saying he unequivocally didn't do it but you don't see Manure fans havin a problem with RVP

They happen loads, but they don't go to court like this one is unless there's reasonable evidence. Certainly there are poor guys like Dave Jones who get caught up in them. But even many found innocent tend to be quite unpleasant characters - Quinten Hann types.

Levy: Donna, it's Daniel, yeah fine thanks, listen, get on Spurs Communtity ASAP, they're kicking lumps out of each other over there
Cullen: No worries, I'll spin them shite about Soldado & Bernard, and maybe throw another cheeky Brazilian into mix
Levy: Cool Beans, but don't make anymore Carlton Cole jokes, they're really not funny, and Frazer Campbell has died a death also
Cullen: What about Rasiak and Andy Booth?
Levy: Nah, just stick to the positives and half truths
Cullen: Easy, laters baldy
Levy: Donna, we also need to have a chat about the employer employee relationship
Levy: P.S. If anyone tweets you about Benteke, just say that his agent demanded 7 million pounds in Green Shield Stamps and that we didn't think it was right for club...They'll believe it, they always do...

It's not just the Carlton Cole and Frazier Campbell jokes that are old and boring.

Yep, good point. Though I do worry that when he hits the ground he'll get injured.

The part that concerns me about Remy (alleged rape charge not withstanding) is that LLM has come on here and been completely vocal about our medical team and how poor they are. Well, Remy is a guy who has a long list of quad, groin and hamstring pulls/strains, etc. Not quite sure that's a very good mix, if true.

Has anybody actually said we are in for remy or is this just more ramblings after David villa/ benteke deals not happening?

Like what?

For me his one quality is that he can run fast. I think his finishing, awareness, movement, close control etc are all poor.
Bollocks, what about that long ranger (against who I can't remember) with minimal back lift on the run - that was tremendous technique.

For me, he offers a bit more physical presence than Lennon, a good engine, eye for a goal and is versatile in a 433 system which is what everyone is assuming we will adopt next year.

If the money is right then I think he could prove a shrewd buy indeed.

Tbh I would take Remy. Great cover along the front 3, has pace, good movement, scores goals and wouldn't expect to be an automatic starter. Plus he wouldn't cost the earth as QPR could do with getting him off the wage bill.

At various points in recent history, JJ coming in here saying 'Bernard' would have led to ticker-tape street parties & wanton masturbation.

Today? A few shrugs and a couple of 'more like Remy' comments.

I think we're all just a bit jaded right now. Most of us are trying to refrain from excitement. But, the posters who are on the street corners with "THE END IS NIGH" on cardboard is a bit disturbing/annoying.

Some incredible over reactions on here.
Totally agree with u m8.Team is stronger and fitter than this time last year.DL knocking is unwarranted-no one is a bigger fan than him!Lastly the smart people know that lack of ITK means that lock down is working!

Oh bugger! I must of missed that, thought (hoped) it was just one of those that was plucked out of the air as a possibility.

In that case then no thanks, could do a job but he is not really an upgrade on ade or Defoe IMO and comes with too many questions marks over his injury record and the obvious off field stuff which right or wrong will surely be a serious distraction t him.

I think the transfer window rollercoaster has defeated too many here to muster excitement.

If it is true and we're going all out it would be a huge coup for us though.

What makes you think Swansea will let Michu go for £15m? Laudrup has already said he's a £30m player in todays market.

I'd did say £15m+, which means over £15m. I think £15m would be best we could hope for but £20 would seal the deal IMHO. Its Swansea, and tehy have spent a fair whakc this window already. Have brought in Bony, making Michu perhaps more attainable to other clubs. It would be a long shot, but it would be a signing I'd love to see happen. I think he showed too much class in his general play to suggest he's at risk of being a one season wonder. Unlike others who scored a lot of goals but perhaps didnt show much else.

To be honest, putting the rape charge to one side, I really want Spurs to aim higher than Remy this particular transfer window.

Regardless of his footballing ability, all most people will see is the rape charge until he's cleared and this is understandable.

Bearing in mind the above, it's a big swing of the pendulum to go from Benteke to Remy in 24 hours.
