well my early transfer window excitement has been well and truely knocked out of me, really not convinced we have a list or a plan, every window is the same shambles, both Everton and Swansea have had no issues bringing players in, would have been happy with Bony and even would have taken Kone or the Barca kid, the way we are going we will end up panic buying Remy or Cisse on deadline day.
Considering the effort that went into getting paulinho , who clearly was identified early , it does seem mad that here we are again in a situation where we appear to have nothing . It may well be that AVB will play one up top and use bale as a floating attacker but surely they must be able to see seasons gone where a lack of striker has cost us.
Defoe as already said the club should sign a striker. So you can imagine how let down the players, AVB will be if Levy fucks up. Yes we have bought Paulinho but we need a striker. It could be the difference between keeping Bale and losing him. It's not rocket science is it? Redknapp told him what he needed, AVB has told him, what he needed. Even Levy himself said in the past that he failed because he didn't bring in replacements quick enough, so why the fuck would you make the same mistakes over and over again?
I don't understand how a seemingly intelligent, successful business man, can be such a fucking plum at times.
I think we dodged a bullet here.. Benteke is good, really good and really would like to see a CF added but 25-28m£? Insane. For that kind of money I would like to see a more established forward. Van Persie cost what 25m£ although in the last year of contract, Soldado 20-25m£(?), Negredo went for roughly 30m£ and Jovetic also. So to pay that kind of money for a guy who haven't played in europe, one season premiership and regurlaly asking for transfers, I think the asking price is little too much.
Was hoping for Benteke especially after hearing from ITKs that it was pretty much in the bag - guess it gives everyone a bit of a reality check about reliability of info. Looking back, POTL and BEN never mentioned either Benteke or the croatian lads as being almost done so that speaks volumes.
