maybe 'cos he was born in Easington, which is about 12 miles from Sunderland? It isn't a case of Levy doing anything, and "stumping up an extra few million" on players left, right and centre is how clubs go broke. You numpty.
I'm hardly a numpty; I feel venting my frustration on potentially losing out on a player who I rate very highly is justified and more than acceptable - provided that I'm a season ticket holder am I not entitled to an opinion?
Also I was merely speculating based on Levy's past actions and ITK suggestions that we might of fallen short of their valuation of him.
I also don't agree that me saying meet their (now reported valuation) of 10 million is going to send Spurs into financial turmoil.
I could of just rated your retort stupid but thought it fairer to reply...

Johnson is a big drinker. He doesn't track back. He is only interested when the ball comes to him. He is from Sunderland.

There are 3 reasons why he shouldn't be a Spurs player and 1 why he should be a Sunderland player.

I think it’s more a case of AVB wanting Willain rather than Johnson. Willian isn’t the most popular choice on here although I don’t know why as he is quality! A pacy, tricky, energetic player that has the dynamism that AVB likes + can play wide left, right or if need be down the middle. Perfect ,despite his probably high price tag which I feel will be justified and is an upgarde to Lennon!!

Lets see the fee that Johnson moves for. I'd say its near 15m if it is then that would explain why we didnt bid

we did want him though

Exactly. We've already got Bentley to do all of that.

Why on earth would you chose Sunderland over us?! Please tell me this isn't another case of Levy refusing to stump up an extra few million. He would have been a quality addition.

how do we know he chose them over us? Do we even know we made a concrete offer?

The point about him being a local lad is fair enough

But ah...the old Leeds Utd/going banrupt scenario again

Then how about us doing this,in the name of financial prudence....Julius Cesar ( free ) instead of Lloris (15m) Meireles (8-10m) instead of Moutinho(25m) Gabon Fella (5m) instead of Leandro (20m)

This will no doubt put us top of the balance sheet league witha -ve net spend but will it win us football matches?will it give us a better chance of achieving CL?

One last word on this subject before I leave it because none of this is twitter related.

That's kinda of a stupid thing to say. How do we 100% know anything - e.g if we've bid for LD, Willian anyone? We only have the knowledge we do atm due to the word of ITK's and various news reports. Nothing is concrete. (not saying we haven't, this is just theoretically speaking)

Although I do agree there wasn't as much murmurings on a Johnson bid as there was others...

I'm going to try and be really clever and try and put all the tweets from this thread in this post. It may or may not be 100% accurate but I'm bored. Click in the "up" arrow to jump to the quote and comment. So yeah...

exactly what needs to be done every day imho, saves me trawling through all the chat about a tweet, mods give this fella a job! (y)

oh, buy the wrong players rather than the ones the manager wants? I've no idea why this wouldn't work... :cautious:

i don't consider it a stupid thing to say. We don't know hallf the stuff as ITK etc is often a bit vague. Hence why i was asking the question. You said he chose them over us............is that therefore not a stupid thing to say?

Not sure if ihave seen any ITK that said we had bid for him at all..........just that we were possibly interested
