If I'm Dier then I'm knocking on Poch's door saying you were right, I'm a CB because that's his best way back into the england team imo.

I think it’s Rice’s best position long term.

Stop obsessing with being mediocre midfielders and become genuinely comfortable on the ball centre halves lads.

People talk about John Stones being comfortable on the ball but the amount of mistakes and misplaced passes he makes...I think he’s the opposite. Being able to control the ball easily doesn’t mean you’re comfortable with it at your feet. He’s a fucking moron with the ball at his feet!
It’s not helped by loads of people applauding it insisting he needs to keep doing it, I’m a fan of defenders that can do it but if you can’t do it, then simply stop!

Maddison hasn't even got a cap yet and he's already creating problems for the manager:

I assume the England doctor thought whatever was wrong with him was bad enough to effect his on field performance and he probably wanted to prevent it spreading throughout the camp, but it really doesn't look good when Maddison's out at the same time the match is on.

Frankly, an awful result that.

We all doubted Southgate when he started. Could be the beginning of the unravelling? The defence is so poor. Makes Tottenham look solid in comparison.
Granted he doesn’t have a lot to pick from but we should never be losing to that Czech team
I wouldn't go so far as saying England's defence made our defence look solid in comparison. Especially when you factor in us shipping in 10 goals in 2 games, and whilst some may say the Czech Republic aren't exactly world class so that makes the performance even worse, we could equally say Brighton are hardly world beaters and we let in 3. I do however get the gist of what you are saying.

The trouble is we (Spurs not England) are in desperate need of a DM so it'd actually be pretty handy if he could start performing in that role again.

So a Winks and Henderson midfield. That should be a better midfield than against Czechs. Winks is far more talented on the ball than Rice and Henderson can do what Rice does quite comfortably.

Not sold on Barkley personally but Mount was pretty poor on Friday in my opinion so can understand that. Shame that Tomori hasn’t been given a game as I think he is more talented than Mings and the times I’ve seen mings live for Villa I think he has been poor.

I’m torn on Mings finally getting a start at the back for England. I think he’s a great player and well deserved debut but also I want Spurs to go for him as a Toby replacement so think this will bump his price up :cautious:

Great to see Winks starting! Think he could be England's solution to a holding midfielder. Dier and rice are far too limited with the ball at their feet, winks can actually spin out of trouble and find a through ball at his best, much more potential as a more natural midfielder (although personally don't see him as the answer to spurs' midfield but this will help him!)

Henderson suspended, excellent... one more crap international player out of the equation.

Nice goal. Kane with a nice bit of play. Shame we don't involve him around the box anymore
