Huge game at home and we could not even muster one shot, let alone one good chance, in the last 40 minutes while trailing, and despite Pool's poor form it still doesn't come as a surprise.

No one gave a shit when we beat Man. City and everything opposition fans predicted is coming to pass: unsustainable results from awful performances, a Kane injury, Jose's tenure slowly turning sour and him blaming players, us being nowhere near the title race at the end of the season.

Anyway, whatever, I hope I am proved wrong.

Were we meant to be?

Thats what I saw too, an even first half. However it seems some people dont like ths opinion and only their blinkered one should count.
First half was even - that’s nothing to crow about. Liverpool were always on top the fact we set up the way we did gave them too much respect. Second half they knew our weakness and explored them big time. They got better whereas we stayed the same.

Trust me if you try and be a bit positive, even a miniscule amount, you'll get hated for it. Sad really.

I'm probably repeating a lot of what has already been said on here but I'm so irritated and jaded that I cant be bothered to read it all. I have tried from the start to get behind Jose (not easy). I have tried to remain optimistic and not act like a typical Spurs fan and start labelling individuals or the team as useless or to act like all is lost after one bad result/performance. So many times I have felt absolutely deflated after a game but refused to be anything but positive and look forward to the next game and believe we will get it right but.....

Last night was an absolute joke on so many levels! I don't pretend to know more than Jose but, like you all, I cannot begin to fathom the thinking...the formation, the team selection, the substitutes. No Toby or Sissoko?! Vini not on for Kane?! Is Mourinho trying to destroy Bales confidence ( I know he didn't arrive in best shape, but its been almost 6 months now)?!

The passing was dire (pun intended), hit and hope long balls asking Son to chase something down all night, we consistently gave the ball away and invited pressure, basic errors all night.

Everybody has a bad day at the office and last nights performance in isolation wouldn't be the end of the world (albeit infuriating) but its not just one game. Its not a one-off. Its everything about the way we have playing this year. I never expected us to win the league, or be the champions of Europe, but I just cant see where we are going. It feels like we don't have an identity, we don't have a personality, we lack any charisma as a club!

I have tried to get behind the way we play in the search for silverware, but my support is waning fast and quite frankly winning the Carabao cup this year will not be enough on its own for me, nor will it make it a successful season.

Rant and rambling over, I cant be arsed

Only positive I can muster right now is that we won’t have to play those shit heads for at least another 7 months.

Mourinho is on the wane. He’s now second guessing himself with team selections and formations to combat other teams ways of playing. Shows that he is intimidated by other coaches when at one time he genuinely considered himself not just the absolute best but ‘The Special One’. Occasionally shows how tactically superior he can be but he needs to pull himself together - or get outl

Tactically horrible last night.
A back 5 against a team like Liverpool was a terrible idea. Even with Reguilon it was nonsense, as soon as he was injured there should've been a re-think.
We were always 2 against 3 in midfield. This meant Ndombele couldn't be used at his most effective.
None of the 3 centre halves followed Firmino when he constantly dropped deep, meaning 2 v 4 in midfield.
The positional play of the defenders (particularly Davies and Aurier) was poor, even with 5 at the back Liverpool were getting in behind and into the box with ease.

Liverpool had a midfielder at centre half. Second half he was joined by a kid. The one area of the pitch they've not had to re-shuffle is their front 3 so why sit back with 5 defenders and allow their best players loads of the ball. Mane looked like he was going to create or score every single time he got the ball.
Yes we made individual errors but we also got carved open regularly; that shows it wasn't working.

Second half was as much of a mess. If Mourinho honestly thinks Lamela is the answer I don't know what the fucking question is.
Winks was brought on to help retain possession and failed miserably.

Surely the approach should've been bravery. Get at them, play on the front foot. Let Bergwijn actually, you know, attack rather than be some kind of Paul Allen hardworking wide midfielder. But that was never going to happen when we show such fear of the opposition from minute 1.

Feel like just biding time waiting for this chapter in our history to come to its inevitable end. Treading water. Not moving forward. No rushes of excitement, huge apathy and boredom.....those words could apply equally to lockdown living or Spurs at the moment.

I am finding it just so hard to care this season. I am bored. Sure bored being locked down, and have no excitement or anticipation about watching Spurs play either. Frequently start dozing on the sofa in our games. The style of football does matter. There said it. 11 men behind the ball waiting for the other team to make a mistake is only going to be justified if it turns out to be insanely successful. Which it isn't.
