Not quite as awful as the Malta performance but it’s really not working at all.

2 moments really stood out for me at the end of the half. Firstly Foden picked up the hall, headed towards the centre circle and then stopped as there was nobody to pass forward to. Then Grealish finally beats his man, gets down the wing and also stops and goes back as presumably there isn’t a ball on to Watkins.

I'd rather have Grealish through the middle as he just doesn't seem to suit the wide position for England.
And yes, the amount of times we just stop and pass backwards is infuriating and for me, Walker is one of the biggest culprits.
Another drab performance though and there's just no oomph about this team under Southgate.

How they're now saying that was a positive half is beyond me.
A shit performance against Malta, followed by another boring and insipid display against North Macedonia.
Both teams we should be spanking.

We look like a team of individuals, very little chemistry.

Maybe not, but we need some dynamism (and pace) at the back. If only MDV had been born in England.

England play the same way against every bang average team. Half-trot pace, foot on the ball, play the way you're facing, safety-first nonsense. Every move is like a training drill where you can't score a goal until Harry Maguire has touched the ball on three seperate occasions in the build up.

It's absolutely boring to watch and there are so many players in England's team that don't seem to know how to pass the ball forwards. Not to mention they don't run into space to receive a pass a pass when anyone with the ball looks up to make one.
