One thing I would like to say on this. The identity of the club is with the supporters, not the employees. Nicholson is the only man that ever transcended this cardinal rule. Levy doesn't define this club. Pochetinno doesn't define this club. Clive Allen doesn't define this club. Ledley King doesn't define this club. Even Keith Burkinshaw doesn't define this club. We may be influenced by these men. We may be lucky to have had them at our club. We may like or loathe them. But the supporters are constant and will outlast them all and therefore define its identity. So perhaps you should be more worried about those of us who act like complete wankers. Because that affects the identity of this club more than the coach of one position.

Agree 100% tottenham hotspur and billy nick , the rest is just details.

Their league victory is one of the most remarkable things to happen in the Premier League and represents a lot more than just a 'footnote' in their premier league area.

If you look at the Premier League as a whole (and especially taking into account the recent league wins by Chelsea and Man City) I'd actually say Blackburn's league victory was underwhelming or at most par for the course. They had the deepest pockets, spent the most and bought the league. As did Chelsea, as did City.

I'm delighted no one spurs left -- this jobs for the old boys crap is funny ... Bottom line is we barely won fuck all in last 30 plus years I'm following them anywAy and during the 90s were an absolute joke players wise , coach wise and results wise ... We became laughing stock ... It's got better in recent times but slowly slipping back in the batter the shit out of spurs time ....

The bigger problem I think is higher up than coaches at spurs ... I don't know exact set up but people pulling real strings are the root of it ... Id say it is a political minefield . A lot of money people who talk the talk but know very little about club... Too many chiefs and all that ..but getting back to it every now n then it's good to have a complete break from the old boy brigade and get someone in who doesn't give a shit about status quo and rightly so at moment ...

Harsh on Ferdinand and Sherwood...........of all the 1000s of pros who've played in the Prem League, Ferdinand is still up there alongside Henry, Cole, Fowler, Owen in the top goalscorer charts and the fact that he didn't play for a top 4 team (Newcastle for a year or two) makes his record even more impressive. Sherwood captained Blackburn to the League Championship breaking the early domination of United. Their league victory is one of the most remarkable things to happen in the Premier League and represents a lot more than just a 'footnote' in their premier league area.

Did you seriously just compare Les Ferdinand to Thierry Henry?

Blackburn spent what was considered a fortune in those days to build that team, Tim Sherwood was a very average footballer, they were relegated not long after if memory serves.

Neither player represents more than a footnote in the Premier League era, how many of you will tell your grandchildren "I once saw the great Tim Sherwood play here".?

The fact that in 1991 they finished 19th in the Second Division and were champions of the Premier League just three years later is staggering to me, money or no money, the mountain to climb to get to that level and sustain it to win the title is much, much more than a just a 'footnote' in the Premier League era. We spent £100m this year and were crap. They spent millions and achieved the dream for a small club. Stands out for me a lot more than the boring run of the mill United victories year after year.

No, if you read it I said he was alongside those players in the highest ever scoring charts. It's what's called a fact.

Well, 16 goals less but also 100-ish games more...
Not saying Les wasn't a great goalscorer, he really was. But he's on about 0,4 goals per game compared to Henry's 0,7. That's quite a difference. Shearer had 0,6-ish, RvP also up thereabouts I think. Ferdinand is pretty much on par with Owen, Cole and Fowler though. So yeah, very good. But not quite Henry-good.

The game has changed. The history is with the fans, but the game has moved on so we can't be tied down by having to employ former Spurs players if they aren't the right fit.

Poch wants his own team in, and it's right that we allow him to do that.

Parks won't struggle to find another job elsewhere if he wants one.

It's obviously important for the club to remember it's history, but that doesn't mean it has to employ that history.

*win* like a mthrfkr.

For that matter, when we won in 62, we were paying Greaves more than the combined wages of the entire squads of most clubs.

That's about right considering he could have beaten most of them on his own. The 'Bank of England' Team wasn't it?

Jumpers for goal posts.

I thought we last won the league title in '61, not '62. And I don't remember Greavesie being in that double-winning side!

My point, with perspective, is that the achievement isn't particularly remarkable given the recent purchasings of the league.

We spent £100m this year and were crap. They spent millions and achieved the dream for a small club. Stands out for me a lot more than the boring run of the mill United victories year after year.

Well, we sold £100m worth of squad first.

Not quite the same as actually spending money.

We weren't crap. We just weren't Blackburn in 1995.

Anyway, dangerously off topic.
