Shaw would pay back 50% of his fee in marketing and merchandising revenue alone. Not to mention he fills the single biggest hole on the team.

Sometimes its worth overpaying to fill a need, or if there are other considerations.

I agree on shaw but the trouble is, there's no way levy is going to pay over £290 million on a player this summer after the relative disaster of the Soldado and lamela signings. Look how long it took for us to break our transfer record again after we'd signed bent and Bentley, which was the last time levy got his fingers burnt.
