Anyone know what the fuss on twitter is about regarding Baldini in Barca?

Several accounts tweeting that something "HUGE" in the set up at spurs is changing.

Obviously some rumour is circulating but it's all very hint hint wink wink.

Setting up a new partnership with Barcelona after a very fruitful few years with Madrid. They rape us if our best players in return for some cash. Lloris Vertonghen and Eriksen winging their way to Camp Nou soon

Seriously though, a spurs fan bumped into him at airport, on same flight and reported that Baldini told him he was off to Barcelona for dinner with Luis Enrique then on to Madrid on Business.

I agree our coaching situation needs stabilizing, I don't see any reason why Ramsey and Parks can't be kept on as they are both highly rated coaches. If we kept a handful of coaches, no matter who the manager, then this could help players adjust to a new system and they still have people to go to if they have trouble with the new man or system. I like the idea of having a handful of former Spurs players as coaches because they can show to new players what playing for Spurs is and what it should mean to them. Players should look up to former players, their predecessors and play for them and play for Spurs.

This is not how football works, it's a fantasy world. And how is it helpfull to have coaches from the previous regime to help divide the dressing room if some players don't like the new guy?

There is a thread in Spurs Chat about Baldini and being in Spain. At the moment there is nothing to suggest that its to do with any transfers. So until this changes it can be discussed in Spurs Chat

Real Madrid
Liverpool
Man Utd
Barcelona etc...

Fantasy world? these are winners, we are not a fucking franchise, we should be a club.
You don't know what you are talking about.

Its this thinking that made the board think they could move us to Stratford.

£20 donutted.

Now, let's see what magic Ponch and Franco can weave on Levy's purse strings...

It's not about dividing, it's about having someone on the coaching staff who is familiar with the players who can communicate with them in a way they understand, players learn in different ways and having someone on the coaching staff who knows how a players prefers to learn can help that player understand the new system.

Fair point but goalkeeper coach is different. It's a very personal relationship. I'm sure lloris will be disappointed Parksy has gone but also understand it's part of football.

Who's left that is Spurs?

Where is our identity?

I hate when shit like this happens, just reminds me how the board haven't got a clue.

Any club that bring in a new coach replace most of the backroom staff with those they have worked with before. Whilst i'd like there to be some Spurs blood in the ranks i would rather the coach (Poch) had the people around him that he felt would give him the best confidence to get the best out of our team. I'm sure that anyone who is good enough will find work and Tony may stay on and work with the younger players etc. All will be revealed soon enough i'm sure.

That is Pochettinos job and he'll use the coaches he needs to communicate his instructions.

The game has changed. The history is with the fans, but the game has moved on so we can't be tied down by having to employ former Spurs players if they aren't the right fit.

Poch wants his own team in, and it's right that we allow him to do that.

Parks won't struggle to find another job elsewhere if he wants one.

It's obviously important for the club to remember it's history, but that doesn't mean it has to employ that history.

great in theory, and we have had such a set up in place since harry was here with clive allen, les, timmy, etc in various roles in the coaching set up - doesn't seem to have worked in the last couple of years though has it?

I'm sorry I disagree

I have no problem with Poch bringing in his team.

I'll give you Barcelona but Moyes got rid of Uniteds backroom staff and brought in his own crew. Mourinho had his own guys at Madrid and took them to Chelsea. I've no idea about Brendan rodgers, but I'd be very surprised if he kept Dalglish guys arround.

And we kept guys like Les Ferdinand, Parks and Sherwood arround for years after Harry left, look how that turned out.

I think it worked very well when it cam to the youth sides, they were playing with a lot of energy and passion under Tim's, Les' and Ramsey's leadership. I see your point that it can be executed poorly especially when such former players are of the "Clive Allen" mold ;)

Only just joined up to SC following my, ahem, "mutually agreed termination" from another well known message board and am delighted I found my way here. An amazing site and I will certainly be donating on Friday when I get paid. Good work all of you.
