That saying, he's brought us from a club that everyone thought was irrelevant, in the small stadium albeit iconic for Spurs supporters, to a club in regular European football recently, to the best stadium in possibly world football, with a world Class manager who previously wouldn't have looked a team like Tottenham, well positioned in the PL still in the CL and domestic cup..... I get this window wasn't what everyone wanted but ffs we've got our main transfer target we wanted and didn't waste money on a CB we maybe didn't want in June.

PS.
I want new owners too but not everything the baldy bastard has done is bad, he's put us in a place we're we can at least competitive and be in a position were people with money might want to buy the club!
We’re competitive? With who? The O2 and Wembley Stadium? Give them Harry Kane and the Summer Transfer window and I wouldn’t put my house on us beating either of them.

All the loans surely a reflection of a club whose manager has less than 6 months to run on his contract?

That was always going to be the fundamental problem going into this window.

Guess we’re about to find out how financially set we really are later this month when the year end results are published……..cha ching!

You think yesterday was bad in here, wait until this lot find out we’ve posted world record revenue ?

(disclaimer: I have no idea if we are about to post world record results, but let’s just say it’s an educated guess based on the latest estimate of the distance between the hands and pockets of the little fella).

We tried for a young British CB in the last few days of the transfer window and talks were advanced. However the selling club were unable to find an adequate replacement in time so opted against selling in the January window. We may go back in for him in the summer, although other targets are likely to become available in the summer window who weren’t available in the Jan window.
This isn't aimed at you but this is exactly the sort of bollocks that is the problem with us. If this young British CB is what we need, why would we try for him once and then not bother again? Either we need him or we don't. In reality we were being opportunist and it didn't come off.

Feels like we have no strategy. We've known we needed a CB since at least last summer if not longer (Sanchez/Davies haven't been nailed on first teamers in their whole career with us) yet we don't seem to target anyone, we just drift around from opportunity to opportunity and then run out of time and wait for the next window to do it all again. Identify a list of who we need and who is available and sign one of them, it isn't that hard!

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

with Doc, we do like a lot of performance related bonuses so those would have saved money over his contract. I am not too bothered by him going, but it does feel like we cheaped out again

Whilst I agree, I think we’ve had ITK that Levy has to approve all deals so it’s more than likely what rebrab said is correct and we haven’t lost a dime on this. It is levy we are talking about after all.
I agree. I doubt financially it's cost us much otherwise we'd have just called the deal off and kept him.

I think you’re mistaken with this take. Most are complaining about the sheer incompetence of the club to make such a huge oversight and then be backed into a corner which has cost us money. It’s not about the loss itself.
I’m certainly not mistaken.

We can take the piss out of levy for being a tight arse with the purse strings but we also need to realise that in certain situations like this, he’s probably just as tight.

And it can be beneficial.

Lets try and keep the Levy slagging for things actually worth complaining about. I have no issue with getting fringe players with no future off the books, however that comes about. This is far and away a better solution than keeping him for 18 months if he's not going to play.

Pleased we got the RB, happy for Doc to go and no real idea if Danjuma will work out - pretty decent January window.

Can we have a Poll to find out if people think we've had good window or not? Maybe in the Post Mortem thread if there is one.

POK confirms the club knew about the 8 foreign loan restrictions so let's at least put that one to bed.
We have a huge amount of legitimate things to gripe about with the window without using one that isn't true

Cos Paul said so? I want a bit more evidence thanks

After signing legal papers? If that's what happened. Not sure it's as easy as you say to just call it off

Ok il go ask Levy to sigh a declaration confirming it then, give me 10 minutes I don't want to miss his morning routine of wiping his ass with Contes list of preferred targets

I don't suppose any of the club's sources or journalists will say the club has made a mistake. We will never know the truth. But it doesn't look good however we see it.
No idea if he'd know or not, but looking back on his history no chance POK it going to cover for the club, he'd be giving it both barrels.

You sign stuff and then complete it by putting a date on it. I’ve got plenty of signed docs that never got completed.
