He's human...and everyone makes mistakes. And sometimes your brother makes mistakes for you!
It's hard not to have a bit of an ego when you have the world talking about you in the way they do.
But he is normally a model, professional sportsman who trains hard and keeps a low profile.

If he stays...and recommits and re-motivates with renewed focus, then we have one of the most complete tried and tested forwards in the world. Who constantly scores and assists goals.
The next few days will be fascinating....and although he'll have some apologising to do, I'm okay with him staying. He's world class.

I don't want to be a little bitch but we do have a Kane thread and much of this would be better suited in there. ?

Fucking hell. Imagine doing everything you can to leave the club you're employed by only to be rewarded with a new contract?! Then you have the likes of Son who signs a contract no questions asked. Doesn't sit well with me.

We all know this wont go away next season. Just sell him now. So over talking about him and his nobhead brother.

It's not a reward though is it? The whole point of him potentially signing a new contract isn't to reward him, it's to make the whole situation black and white. It benefits us more than it benefits him.

Say he signs a new 5 year deal, higher wages which is fine, but a black and white release clause for say £160m Thats fair for all parties I feel as we wouldn't get that next year with him having 2 years left on his current contract.

Your last sentence completely contradicts the whole point of a new contract.

If they're not willing to pay £160m for a 28 year old now, I don't see them ever paying that much, ever. It's there to put a number on it, but if he signs a new contract he'll only be leaving on our terms - and by that, I don't mean the release fee, I see it as he's probably not leaving unless we decide we want him to.
That makes sense if we knew for certain he wouldn’t get itchy feet again, but we don’t. Given he’s already locked into three more years with us, he’s still managed to unsettle the club by agitating aggressively for a move. He could easily do this again in 12-18 months.

The only certainty this new contract will do is line his already deep pockets even more. But I also worry about the wider damage this does to the club. He already exercises far too much power; how many times has he rushed back , not fully fit, from injury to feature in key matches when he failed to impress? What impact does both his behaviour and the rewarding of his behaviour with this new contract say to the rest of the squad?

He sees himself as bigger than the club and squad- when that happens, it’s better for you everyone to move on

Just been working on samples for this writers role and come to find Kane could sign a new contract? Would imagine with a clause included. So either he goes this summer for £160m and we finish the window strong, or he goes next summer if we don't reach UCL? I see that as a win/win to be honest.

I dont disagree on the best course of action, but there's no market for big money deals for footballers when they get to near 30 (29 end of next season, that is) unless they have impeccable fitness, like Cristiano.

Harry's done himself no favours by insisting on being run into the ground. Even people on here think he has ankles made of sugar glass, when we know it's not the case.

Not sure how anyone else feels, but fuck giving Kane a new contract!

Yup, I'm still on the "fuck him" boat.

Dragon's info lines up with what we've been told by many (including from Herc way before this all kicked off), that Kane had asked for and been denied an extra week. Taking it anyway, pretending this was all planned and leaking to the media to try and engineer a move, then playing dumb when it all falls apart is pretty close to unforgivable.
