Cant see that being true. Why would he settle for 5th and 6th when we can realistcially challenge for 60+million a year extra in the champions league?

Yeah sorry on reading that back I didn't word it too well. I just mean it seems like the players we have is what he will give us to have a go at 4th. He seemingly won't ever just go for it and buy someone for big money and really push things. It just seems he's happy to think that were a club more than capable of having 5/6th wrapped up and he'll give us the odd cheaper player in the hope that if everything comes together (us playing well, other teams failing) we might get the odd season where we manage to nick 4th.

It's a bit like we won't get 4th just by being the 4th best team, it'll be because we played well but Arsenal etc had poor seasons.

Sorry, I don't believe that after two years there's a sticking point on price - with a 10% difference - which is fucking massive in a deal like this.

When dealing with Inter over Damiao, it's clear that any reports we hear have to be taken with a huge amount of salt.

The number of times we've been 'close' is ridiculous so it would hardly be a surprise for it to fall through again.

What would be pretty unforgiveable is if we didn't have a sensible backup option...which is looking increasingly unlikely.
