If we could negotiate a deal whereby a significant chunk of the £50m for Sessegnon is tied to league and international appearances, goals, etc. then we could negate a lot of the risk in that transfer. After Bale and Alli, you can totally understand lower league clubs being careful not to undervalue their prized assets where we're concerned, and it really does look like Sessegnon is a future star in the making.

I think if we don't get something agreed before the end of this season, we'll likely miss out. Other richer clubs will pay significantly more up front, and the price may even increase if his form persists and after the new Premier League TV deal is publicised.

Fulham hold all of the cards on this one. As Herc says, it seems like Sessegnon's team struck a deal that is way too favourable to Fulham, and they can ignore what the player wants and push for the highest fee. Sessegnon tried to do right by the club that developed him by signing a new deal but he might be regretting that decision soon if Fulham get too greedy.

Would he not need a work permit first?
I believe it would depend on his residency status as he's been in the EU more than 5 years so he might just be able to move over without a specific permit.

Just to shed some light (safely) on Trix’s info re Sess. If we offered 60m cash, and loan him back, and pay his wages etc, Fulham wouldn’t budge. Summer is another matter, but their owners are loaded, and carry a mentality, with a lot to be desired (opinion).

I stand firm by the view, his team cut a crap deal, loaded in Fulham’s favour. From what I know, he is very keen on us, and forget any other London club. He, and I agree does not want to go too far from home.

Think his team probably knew exactly what they were doing as they'd receive no agents fee for an under 18 year old moving in this country.

So from the ITK it appears to be only Moura (assuming we push that through) for this window.

Probably more than some of us were expecting, but disappointing if we were in for other players and it didn't come off.
