£50m for Sess is a lot..............but i think it underlines the craziness of the transfer market that part of me is thinking that this could be a shrewd investment!

I was under the impression that the player we've missed out on would possibly walk straight into our first 11. Surely nobody thinks sessegnon would do that? As good as he is for his age, that's very optimistic.

Crazy when we would be hoping to get that for Rose if we sold him.

Agreed. The only team position I can think for which it would be plausible for Spurs to attract a a player who might walk straight in these days is CM.

I'm confused, so might be missing something. Have I just jumped to an incredibly wrong conclusion, or are you saying that Sessegnon was the player JJ was alluding to?

Knew I shouldn't have started the day by inhaling carpet cleaner.

Of course I’m not. He asked for a cryptic so he got one.

If we could negotiate a deal whereby a significant chunk of the £50m for Sessegnon is tied to league and international appearances, goals, etc. then we could negate a lot of the risk in that transfer. After Bale and Alli, you can totally understand lower league clubs being careful not to undervalue their prized assets where we're concerned, and it really does look like Sessegnon is a future star in the making.

I think if we don't get something agreed before the end of this season, we'll likely miss out. Other richer clubs will pay significantly more up front, and the price may even increase if his form persists and after the new Premier League TV deal is publicised.

Why would Fulham agree to any of that? They aren't stupid.

I sort of agree with you, I don’t think it would be crazy.

There’s absolutely zero point in comparing the market now with how it was a year or two ago. You can’t go back in time however much you want to. A hugely promising and accomplished young player like RS is worth an awful lot of money. And there’s no reason to suggest he won’t be worth a lot more in a couple of years time.

I’d like us to buy him.

I wonder if the £50m includes his brother.

We could maybe push for that deal and then turn his brother into a capable Kyle Naughton-style squad player who we shift for £15m to Stoke a few years later, thus making Sess better value.

Will donate when I am paid in a few days. I don't know what I'd do without SC, love this place!

Also, just to add... the addition of @Hercules to the already great @Trix and @JJetset has made the past couple of windows loads more fun. I like your positivity, Herc!

Really appreciate all the frequent posts from all of you guys. After Pottle hung up his :peeking: it got dryer than a camel's nutsack for a few windows and we relied so much on @dovahkiin expertly whoring stuff from other boards.

Given the regularity of updates posted directly into this board this window, Dov's probably been able to turn up for work for the first time in a few years!

It's all about the monthly subscriptions dudes. Just set one up and then forget about it. If we all did it then SC would have more than enough to never have to ask for donations ever again.

Just to shed some light (safely) on Trix’s info re Sess. If we offered 60m cash, and loan him back, and pay his wages etc, Fulham wouldn’t budge. Summer is another matter, but their owners are loaded, and carry a mentality, with a lot to be desired (opinion).

I stand firm by the view, his team cut a crap deal, loaded in Fulham’s favour. From what I know, he is very keen on us, and forget any other London club. He, and I agree does not want to go too far from home.

Depends how much we were to pay up front, and how confident they are that he's going to make it. Anyway it's all pie in the sky, and my only experience of transfer negotations is from Football Manager, so probably not worth discussing further.

Here's hoping we can get Moura announced today and potentially straight into the squad for the United game.

Think of when when we bought bale.. Same sort of scenario as then.. Crazy money for a kid who turned out to be a goldmine.
Think the pros of getting the lad far outweigh the cons.

Anything north of £20 mill would be a massive gamble for Sess. This is one transfer that I wouldn’t blame Levy for walking away from.
